Kiruna Train Station is 23 km from the lodge, while Kiruna Bus Station is 21 km from the property. The nearest airport is Kiruna, 17 km from Camp Caroli, and the property offers a paid airport shuttle service. Fantastic stay in the middle of great nature! We stayed for 5 nights in September. Supposed to be 6 nights but missed one day due to sudden cancellation of our outbound flight. Despite such hustling of our arrival, Stefan is very friendly and welcomed us with a warm hospitality. Small camping but quiet and cosy enough. Not far from Kiruna city with only 20 min drive you can get a real tranquility by a beautiful lake without any light from the city in the night, which is a perfect place for relaxing and spotting the northern lights. After coming back from a long drive and hiking in Abisko National Park, we enjoyed private sauna at the camp, then when got out of the place with a hot body, found a subtle greenish light in the night sky and it was getting bigger to be more visible. Yes, the northern lights!! Wavering slowly and reflecting itself on the surface of the lake, it was a really fantastical moment. We were so lucky to be able to see at such exclusive place where only my wife and me (and the owners) are there.
Gällivare

Kiruna
Offering rooms with a lake view and modern furnishings, this property is 22 km from Kiruna and 35 minutes’ drive from Nikkaluokta. It features a cosy, bookable restaurant cabin with a personal chef. WiFi and parking are free. The host, Johan, was really nice and hospitable and the location itself was lovely as it was remote and allowed us to gaze up at the aurora without light pollution getting in the way. Unfortunately I believe those were the only two reasons I was not entirely disappointed with my choice.
Abisko

It has great staff and a beautiful location. We also got free breakfast, dinner and tickets to a museum about the Sami People which was fascinating.
Kiruna
Situated only 5 km from Kiruna, Máttaráhkká Northern Light Lodge offers beautiful mountain views. Facilities include a sauna, a hot tub and lounge with a fireplace. The lodge is ideal for guests wanting to experience activities such as cross-country skiing, snowmobile tours and for observing the Northern Lights. The staff was really friendly and approachable. They have been very helpful whenever we have problems. On the day of our snowmobile northern light tour, there was a heavy snow which results in us not able to catch the northern light. However, Adrian still went all the way up to the mountain in order to provide us with the best experience. The dinner in tipi before the tour was really delicious and we had the chance to talk to other travellers from other countries during dinner time. Aside from that, the home-cooked dinner in the lodge itself was exceptional! I am really in love with the dessert. Lastly, the room is on a smaller side but it's really cosy.
Kiruna
JVT Cabins features a shower. There is running water in a service house as well as a kitchen in another service house. The toilets are located in an outhouse.

The house was really great, perfect for a family with 3 children. We really like Swedish Lapland and the house is the perfect place for adventures in nature... it's our second time in this house, last time we were here in summer, now we enjoyed the winter (ski touring, hiking up Pyhäkiellinen near Skaulo, husky and snowmobile safaris in Lappeasuando ...)
The lounge, the food and you can start walking from the lodge. It is easy to reach with the train. Relaxibg in the sauna..
Wonderful location next to the reindeer. The cabin was clean and comfortable. All the staff were very friendly, both at the lodge and the restaurant.
We stayed in the private apartment. It was clean, shower was good, and the kitchen had basic supplies. Very short walk to the grocery store and to the restaurant at nearby Abisko Mountain Lodge. They run many activities from there and can help you book with other companies.
The location is fantastic. We walked out of the lodge and up a little hill and there were the Northern Lights. The breakfast is amazing. I have never had such yummy eggs. We loved the bread and cheese too. The main sitting room was lovely, especially with the fire going.
Lovely old mountain style lodge
Simple yet comfortable lodge in a national park . There where nice common areas to hang out in too.
Excellent location, we could see the Northern lights from the Helipad behind the lodge, also the husky ride and Snow mobile was at the same place .
We had a fantastic stay at Abisko Mountain Lodge from the moment we checked in. The lodge is cosy and the staff are great. The food was amazing and highly recommend booking the soup buffet for lunch. The lodge is a short walk from the train station which in the cold was very welcome, we especially appreciated the staff alerting us when the aurora was visible.
The Lodge is really nice, cosy, comfortable. The welcome you wish when arriving in Abisko. The room (superior) was pretty big and characteristic. Good restaurant (the only one probably in Abisko when we got there) and good breakfast! The hall has a cosy area with books and board games, and a small shop. The personnel is kind and gives good suggestions. There is a flat high ground area 3 min walking (helicopter base) with darker sky where to spot aurora! Sauna is a plus.
