We felt absolutely spoiled. We were welcomed with open arms.
The staff were outstanding, informatve and very friendly.
Although the dinner menu was very limited the quality was 5 star.
Accommodation was absolutely immaculate and so comfortable.
Will definitely be back even though it was a bit pricey.
Wellington

I have lived in and visited Mainland USA, Hawaii, Australia, Pacific islands, New Zealand and Japan and stayed in many hotels.
Firstly, Wellington Lodge owners, Chris and Lou, were nice and friendly. They both have traveled to many countries and experienced different peoples, cultures and sites. Secondly, the place is beautiful and clean and is situated in a beautiful setting with gorgeous panoramic views of the Wellington harbor and hills and surroundings. Thirdly, it was winter and the rooms have heating and surprisingly, the bathroom floors are heated! How COOL is that! 🙃 There is free parking on the premises and breakfast is served each morning! We would love to visit again from Japan.

Amazing restaurants (pho viet best Vietnamese Ive ever had!) supermarket and bus stops are a short walk away
Lower Hutt
The Boulcott Lodge is located 5 minutes’ drive from historic Petone and is only 15 minutes from central Wellington. It is just a 5-minute walk to both Boulcott Hospital and Hutt Hospital.
Each air conditioned studio or apartment at Boulcott Lodge includes a Smart TV, heating and double-glazed windows. Apartments with a full kitchen, including oven and dishwasher, are available.
We loved the accommodation, the friendly staff.

I had an amazing time with my boys at the lodge, the hosts were very welcoming, the house was clean and had eveything that we needed, the bed was very comfy, location was very good too. I have family in Wellington and I would for sure stay at the lodge everytime I am down there. 🥰
We really struck gold staying at Travel Lodge Hotel due to the close walking proximity to Te Papa Musuem,The Cable Car,then free shuttle van to Zealandia, Beehive.
Beautiful bedroom and beautiful entrance that leads to the house. Very expansive lodging wit an open space. It has a classic colonial architectural style with African decor. The shower was very powerful and we enjoyed the 🛁.
Main bed comfy. Extra bed was absolutely terrible. Kitchen facilities were scarce. Staff were the least pleasant so far. We were ill informed about where to park our car and ended up with a parking ticket. Hoping this will be sorted promptly by Travelodge Hotel. Still awaiting a message regarding this.
Did not avail of the breakfast but across the road the cafe in the Racecourse was open for breakfast and served the best breakfast I have eaten for a long time. The Lodge is two minutes walk from the train station to Wellington and five minutes walk from a beautiful park which leads to the Hutt River pedestrian and cycle path. There are two bar/restaurants attached to the Lodge and a Liquor Store beside it.
Our stay at Te Kopura Lodge in 1 word was MAGICAL. The gardens were breathtaking and hosts Michelle and John were so lovely and amazing. We also loved the 2 super friendly dogs Willow and Maisy. Highly recommend a stay at Te Kopura Lodge. You will absolutely fall in love with the landscape and hospitality .
Host greeted us on arrival and was able to recommend a restaurant for dinner that was within walking distance. Lodging was in a beautifully decorated, thoroughly modern, older home. There is a sitting room/den separate from the bedroom. Lodging was on a private second level of the house.
Halswell Lodge is a motel with horrific facilities. The picture does not represent what is seen there. There was nothing to like except that it is in the city centre.
We paid about NZ$90 for a twin room with ensuite as we were catching an early train in the morning. The train station was just across the road. The hotel exceeded our expectations for the price in every way. It felt more like a 3 star hotel in Europe than a backpackers lodge. I will happily save money and stay here again. We saw nobody but the receptionist and heard no noise at all. Excellent position in the city with many breakfast options available. A very positive experience and a comfortable rest.
We have been travelling around the South Island and have stayed in many different quality hotels, motels, lodges. The Sofitel was one of the most comfortable and ensured three great night's of sleep. The staff were fabulous: friendly, helpful and totally professional. Look out for Gaston and Toni who were particularly helpful and fun. The gym was spacious and well-equipped - husband was very happy!
