Great hotel, very kind and engaging staff, some of the best food we had in South Africa, beautiful views over the bay and the sand dunes and a lovely little game drive with the chance to see giraffes, many kind of antelope and much more. Amazing luxury ,picnic’ lunch right down by the ocean. Brilliant way to unwind and relax before travelling home.

We offer exclusive use, self-catering accommodation in a beautifully appointed, recently renovated thatched lodge, Hunter’s Lodge. The lodge consists of 5 rooms, 4 of which are en-suite. Guests will have private access to a secluded beach at the edge of the reserve.

Wonderfully decorated and very well maintained property. We and our friends - together two couples - had the whole house for our selves as there were no other guests staying. This made our stay even more relaxing in an atmosphere of a luxurious, cosy home. Melissa the owner was truly caring to make our stay as pleasant and memorable as possible. Excellent breakfast. The beach is wild and beautiful with no people around, wonderful place to take long walks.

There are both indoor and outdoor self-catering accommodation options at Mansfield. The original farmhouse, with fully equipped kitchen, can sleep up to 8 guests. Farmhouse guests also have access to a private swimming pool and braai. The smaller cottage can sleep up to 4 guests. The cottage opens onto a stoep with braai, that overlooks the bushveld. Eagle’s Nest Cabin offers a completely off the grid experience. The kitchenette is equipped with a small gas stove and fridge. Lighting is battery-operated and paraffin powered. Hot water to the shower is generated by an old-fashioned “donkey”! Adventure is guaranteed! Outdoor accommodation includes camping sites and tree-top platforms. The platforms, with bunk beds, appeal especially to young outdoor enthusiasts.

We stayed for 4 nights at "The Lodge", an amazing historic family home that takes you back in time 100 years. Beautifully furnished with antiques and animal skin rugs. Enjoyed the fragrance of Mansfield Private Reserve's signature linen spray, moisturizer and body wash. The surrounding wildlife and birds were wonderful. . . herds of Impala, Zebra, Wildebeest and a few Blesbock were frequently very nearby. Kingfishers, Horn bills, Hoopoes, Starlings etc. flitted through the trees. A Magical Experience in every way.

Even though the place it's not satisfactory at all, the owner was very friendly and kind. She apologized for the condition of the lodge, , explained that they have recently bought the place. I hope they will improve it quickly.
