The Fairmont Heritage Place, Franz Klammer Lodge offers free transportation to Telluride and Montrose Airports. A 24-hour fitness centre and concierge desk are offered. A bar and club room are featured with a cocktail reception on select evenings. Other amenities include babysitting services and group activities such as hiking and horseback riding.

So this place is "dated" with a capital "D"...but we still give it the highest marks because you're skiing, with your family, not hanging out in the room. Plus, the amenities in the room that mattered weren't dated: Bosch dishwasher, subzero fridge, new microwave (I forget what brand), gas stove, gas fireplace, jacuzzi tubs in both bathrooms. The views were incredible, probably the best we've ever had skiing--and we ski multiple times a year (last year we stayed in 8 different condos in various CO towns). You can't beat the location for getting to the main lift to get up with mountain and on with your day. They valet your skis right by the Village Lift/main gondola and it's only steps from your condo. Plus you're so close to great pubs/wine bars in the village and it's easy to take the free gondola in to town for more varied dinner options. There's a spa located in the condo building and we both had massages, which were great. There are out door hot tubs with magnificent views. Kids love the indoor/outdoor pool. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Mountain Lodge features studio and 2-bedroom apartments that offer all the privacy and comforts of home. Each flat includes comfortable living areas with 2-way gas fireplaces. The gourmet kitchens or kitchenettes boast refrigerators, stainless-steel gas range stoves, microwaves and dishwashers.

We have visited Telluride and the Mountain Lodge in the summer a couple of times but never in the winter. This was an exceptional Christmas Eve and Day visit.

Mountain Lodge Telluride is situated between the Market area/gondola and Mountain Village. It was quiet and cozy and does have ski in/ski out access.

Matt at the Lodge restaurant was great and I didn't get the woman's name who made my lemon drop martinis but they were really good! Being able to jump on the Gondola was great to go into town.

Retta, the lodge keeper, is the epitome of friendly, professional, and competent. Super responsive, wonderful stories, going out of her way to make guests feel welcomed. The location is a 10, walk everywhere, and the creek runs right past the shared outdoor deck. The homemade breakfast is exceptional. The rooms are small but functional. Would definitely stay there again.
