We loved staying here. Everything was amazing, I would highly recommend.
Jason was so generous with his knowledge and we really enjoyed our stay.

The staff are all really friendly and the guides who lead the boat trips and treks are very knowledgeable. Halim, especially, was fantastic - we were always pleased when he was in our boat! The boat trips were really good and we saw lots of different wildlife. The great thing was the trips didn't feel rushed - because they're run by Bilit, there was no rush to get back if there was something interesting to stop and see. The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable with good working air con. The food - breakfast, lunch, and dinner - was all good. Decent variety at the buffets and plenty to eat! The banana fritters for afternoon tea were also a nice little treat. The social aspect and opportunity to meet new people, because you get seated with your boat mates for meals.

The guides and river cruises were fantastic and very knowledgeable, the resident cat Franco was sweet & the cooks were great too! We ate very well and we had private showers. The fans in the rooms made it cool at night :)
We were very lucky to see orangutans sooo close to our camp.
Ideal for nature-lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and self-catered. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than holiday homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.
Food excellent - best we had in malaysia
View - awesome
Wildlife - interaction with nature - unique and could not be replicated for costs
Ethics of the lodge - applaud owners
Location is just perfect. We saw orang oetans at breakfast and while walking down the staircase. I think this place is more unique compared to the other lodges alongside the river.
Room is cosy and basic. You do have hot water and at nights the temperature is quite comfortable for sleeping.
The guys at the lodge spent lot of effort to make your stay as best as possible. Food is also good. I would definitely recommend this place!
Lodging, meals, guiding... all was superb (including the sightings of pygmy elephants and orangutans). The people at the Last Frontier Resort are very passionate about their jobs and they excel at it. Rodel was a great guide and Jason went out of his way to make sure our onward journey by bus would work smoothly. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Would be 11 out of 10 (if that was a possibility).
So if you get the chance - book it :)
The room includes the tour which was amazing. We saw so much wildlife including orangutans, civet cat and a slow loris!! The lodge is so peaceful, just in the jungle with boardwalks around. Very comfortable and clean room. Buffet style food, they made us separate meals as we are both vegan, so they cater for everyone. One day we were the only people at the lodge so it was so nice and quiet. The night walk is good but we had a large group which made it hard to see things if you are at the back, you can hire wellies and leech socks.
I didn't expect much from a lodge, but this one is a really great place! I loved the food, the staff, the surroundings (even the monkeys stealing your food) and the services provided
