The rustic self-catering units at La Vieille Cheminee are equipped with air conditioning, a fully-equipped kitchen and barbecue facilities. 3 of the cottages boast a fireplace. Each en-suite bathroom is equipped with a shower and free toiletries.

I loved the concept of staying in a cabin on an eco farm and having the staff fill my fridge with prepared meals for me to heat when ready. It combined the best aspects of camping without having to worry about meal prep or sleeping on the ground. My bed was extremely comfortable and the AC kept my room at a reasonable temperature. I thoroughly enjoyed going for walks around the farm (tip: bring hiking boots) and taking late afternoon dips in the pool, which had stunning views. I requested vegetarian meals and they were always delicious (also the portions were huge -- I was able to save some leftover food from my dinners to eat for lunch on the following days). I took a farm tour with Sophie on my last morning and it was so interesting to learn about the different plants and animals that live on the farm. All of the staff were extremely helpful, but Sophie really went out of her way to make my stay perfect. I am already dreaming about coming back again someday!

The room and building are modern, especially for Mauritius standards. The location is nice and quiet and I felt safe at all times. Highlight of the stay are the hosts! They are so welcoming and making sure that you have a lovely stay. I can definitely recommend this accommodation.

We had a suite with private pool with sea view a little way from the main lodge so were transported by golf cart. Staff were excellent and meals had acceptable options. Extra cost al la carte also available. A perfect place for a complete chill out.

Lakaz Chamarel is a tropical getaway in fantastic surroundings. The staff, lodge, facilities, food … In fact everything was great. Many of the lodges come with own plunge pools Add to this the location, views, and walking distance to the rummary… what else can I say.

Lakaz was one of the most romantic places we have stayed in. We had a room with a sea view and loved the view, wildlife and peace. The room had its own infinity pool. The Lodge is set in beautiful surroundings and watching the bats in the evening was a delight.

Our stay was FANTASTIC!! The lodges are incredible and the private outside space is so peaceful. The breakfasts brought up and delivered were delicious and the dinners too (if you order them) Staff went above and beyond and delivered a birthday cake for my birthday. You must try the horse riding, we did 20 min ride around the farm. Horses are free to roam around the site. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. The location and views were amazing.
