Excellent small hotel with friendly, helpful staff in good Upper West Side location. You do, however, pay the price for it.

After an initial bad experience with front desk staff, my follow-up encounters were very positive, friendly and helpful. If it were not for that initial experience, I would have given front staff top ratings.
The hotel is beautiful….the coffee and pastries were excellent. Rooms were very clean and quite large …we had suites.

This property is in the perfect location. You’re close to the subway, Times Square and a lot of restaurants. I took an early morning walk and ran into the taping of Good Morning America, because they literally tape right around the corner from the property. Everyone at the property is so nice and in the morning they have a nice continental breakfast but also throughout the day they serve water and snacks. Trust me, you’ll be very happy at this property.

why is this even mentioned?
why is this even mentioned? crowded, often dirty, unsurprising and very touristy. if you like neon well maybe but it’s rather gross. exciting maybe for people who’ve never traveled. if you want to be awestruck, go to the 9/11 memorial.

It’s good to see ones and for the theatre otherwise too busy, however there is a nice dinner by the American flag and nypd it’s called Brooklyn dinner also another good one where they sing show tunes further up where Chicago is on .

Superb place at any time during the day.
Superb place at any time during the day. Specially after 3:00 PM when most theaters release all the available seats at the amazing shows for that evening.
Great place to stop and have something to eat after the shows.
Amazing feeling of a city that has a hard time to sleep at night.

Not really very much to see other than buildings with lights on it was noisy messy and not actually a square. We thought it would be a bit like leister square in London but it literally was just some building s we nearly walked past it.

I love times square. Plenty to see and do. Lots of restaurants ranging from reasonable to pricy. Shop around. If you stay in times square, Central Park, Lincoln Center and Carnagie Hall are all within walking distance.

Times Square is something that has to be seen to truly...
Times Square is something that has to be seen to truly appreciate. However, be prepared to be overwhelmed with the amount of people and the sensory overload! Don't pose for pictures with or even interact with the characters in costumes, unless you intend to pay them. If you want to see Times Square at the least stressful time, go at 3am. And the best food in NYC is NOT in Times Square.

location location location! just a short stroll to the Penn Station, which was really easy and convenient to get there, especially if you're getting to NYC/Times Square by train/subway. The hotel and rooms are furnished modern, bright, and airy.
The location was close to Times Square and right next door to a very good eating place as well as across the street. The food at the hotel was good too. Great service and the buffet was awesome!
Room setting and location of hotel. Its just 10 min walk from Times Square and other major attractions are easily accessible by subway just at 3-4 min walk from Hotel.
Room was super small. Could not open curtains as there was a building with people in it so curtains had to stay closed. I thought I reserved another hotel with view of Times Square. I would have preferred being in a hotel closer to the action with a view and bigger room.
Location was in East Midtown and was walking distance to Central Park, Times Square, Broadway Musicals, and 5th Avenue. Subway to lower Manhattan was just around the corner. Staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel was older but had a nice NY feel to it.
This hotel was 1/2 block from times square. We walked everywhere. It was very clean, had comfortable beds. For New York the room was good size for me and my daughter. The valet service was great, when leaving was told an hour wait for our car but they had it to us within 30 mins. I would highly recommend this Hampton inn.
