Nice and vintage hotel idealy situated on the PM cable car line. When you arrive from the airport, take the yellow bart line direction san francisco, exit at powel street stop. There is a kiosk to buy the MUNI card (or install the app and buy a 24h ticket + activate). With the muni card + cable car, you can take directly the PM cable car to the hotel, china town or end up a fisherman's warf, perfect! Hotel is nice and clean, vitage at it should be. Typical US breakfast was included. Very friendly and helfull.at the reception.

Location was good but for what we paid we wouldn’t stay there again. Was more of a business hotel and a family friendly. Wouldn’t recommend staying here if you have kids. Very overpriced.
Originally established in 1906, the elegant Nob Hill Hotel features marble flooring, ornate ceilings and an extensive collection of period paintings in the hotel interior.

Home to one of America’s icons – the Golden Gate Bridge – San Francisco is a liberal city where life is very much for the living.
Surrounded on 3 sides by water, it is spread over steep hills that make for great photo opportunities. None better than the zig-zag Lombard Street seen in many a film. Other movie stars are the streetcars plying the hill climbs – a little touristy, but still worth trying.
In the middle of the bay is Alcatraz island, famed for the notorious criminals once imprisoned there. Even if you don’t fancy going inside, the views towards the bridge and city are unparalleled.
Nowhere in San Francisco is life more laidback than on the Pacific beaches. Hire a bike and head out there via the huge Golden Gate Park, before returning to sample some fresh seafood at Fisherman’s Wharf. The clam chowder served in (yes, actually in!) bread is a delight. Chinatown also has a great selection of good value restaurants.
As you fly into San Francisco Airport, look out for the exclusive homes lining the Bay Area. Whether you want to stay in apartments along those lines, luxury San Francisco hotels or cheap hostels, Booking.com has something to suit. Be careful though – you might just leave your heart here.
We were in SF to go to the opera. Only over a weekend.
We were in SF to go to the opera. Only over a weekend. Parked the car through valet parking (independent of the hotel) and left it there the whole time (expensive!). Used Uber and it made things efficient and effortless. We ate at a local Japanese/Korean restaurant of no pretense and good food. Above, I mentioned that we didn't stay in the room we booked....they gave us an upgrade because they noticed we have some problems of mobility and they made sure that the room was as convenient as possible.

My first vist of an american city.
My first vist of an american city. Mixted feeling of Beauties, whealth and extreme poverty.
Avoid tenderloin as, according to locals, this is a very unsafe place (homeless and drug).
Do visit pier 9, pier 39, the golden gate.
Take the muni card for most public transportation, also buy the cliper card to access "non muni" public transportation (including bus 130): this is valid if you want to ake the buss across the goldengate to sausalito or to come back with the ferry from sausalito directly to pier 41, while passing along alcatraz (14 dolars). There is also the option to bike from pier 41 to the goldengate, sausalito then back with the ferry. Very nice activity to do in familly. Dont forget to visit the point of view at the top of the goldengate (pacific side), on the way down, there is a road going bellow the bridge to sausalito only accessible to bikes and pedestrians (1h+ walk). Very quiet, beautifull view on the bridge and old eucaliptus. Take a good jacket: june temp around 13-18c with very strong wind everywhere. My day was sunny and I was burned by the sun, so take care with young childrens (sun protection).

There is lots to see in the City and surrounding areas.
There is lots to see in the City and surrounding areas. It was pretty clean for a large American City. The internationally renowned sites (Golden Gate Bridge, Pier 39, Cable Cars etc.) did not disappoint for a first time visit.
Staying out of the core of the City is advised unless you want to see the most unfortunate of people with severe drug problems. Ask which areas to avoid.
Taking a local tour such as the buses that allow you to get off and on at various stops is recommended at least once, at the beginning of your trip.
I would like to go back to San Francisco again.

Great restaurants although the added fees ie taxes tips etc are too high and discouraging. For example I usually eat at Sears an historic restaurant next to the Chancellor. However, I took my two grandsons there for breakfast and my bill came to $77 but with the add ons totaled $101. Needless to say I won't be having breakfast there again.
Using public transportation is another plus. It's relatively cheap and as a senior I travel free. Great way to get around town and to see the city.
Fisherman's Wharf is always crowded but there are some cool shops like a poster store and a hot sauce store. Japantown also has great shopping. Cheesecake Factory has great view of the city.
Noticeable police presence around Union Square.

I go to San Francisco frequently for concerts, and I love staying overnight and going out for dinner and cocktails. Union Square was pleasant with Flowers in Bloom, a local theme to beautify the Union Square area. Casual pre-show bite to eat at Osha Thai in the TL. My show was at the Great American Music Hall, I had breakfast at The Post Room in the Beacon Grand Hotel, and coffee and desserts from Miller & Lux Provisions Cafe.

Lots to see, a long weekend is the perfect amount of time.
Lots to see, a long weekend is the perfect amount of time. The hop on hop off bus is great to get you *close* to destinations, but don’t plan on seeing from the bus unless you hop off! The trip to see the Golden State bridge was great!
Despite it being super touristy, the Wharf hosted some really good restaurants and shopping was great. The trips to Alcatraz sell out, so buy ahead of time if you can! (They leave from pier 33). We saw magician Jay Alexander at the Marrakesh club.. he was amazing!!! Highly reccomend the show!… last, dress in layers! Have fun!
It is a lovely historic building, very close to the cable car first stop and the union square. The immediate area around the hotel is quite nice.
The hotel is overall a bit old, but it is normal given that it is a historical building and the hotel has been there for a while. Overall it is refurbished enough so that everything looks nice and functions really well. Overall, I found the building really charming and I was happy with the refurbishment quality.
It looked and was very clean. The king bed was very comfortable.
We stayed for 3 nights and the bed was probably the most comfortable, softest bed I have ever slept in - amazing! Our room was at the front of the hotel so I feared street noise, but actually it was so quiet considering the location in a city. It was nice waking up to hear the bell of the trolley cars going by the end of the road. The location is perfect for walking around the Union Square area and in close proximity are many options for food and drink. The hotel also smelled fresh and clean.
This is the Best Hostel. It is literally in the Center , Downtown San Francisco Union Square area.
There are Supermarkets, Eating places near the Hostel.
I had a room for my self which had all Amenities!
The staff is friendly and always willing to help.
I highly recommend Orang Village Hostel to International Travellers and California Residents don’t bother by chance they took me in as i didn’t know that locals aren’t allowed!
Overall best hostel in San Francisco, California!
This hotel is a gem. We loved the great attention given to details: soft linen, comfortable beds, materials used, Smeg fridge in the rooms, perfect cleanliness, delicious pastries for breakfast,...
Add to that that the staff is super friendly and helpful, that there is large chilling room and that the location is very very close to Union Square.
Honestly, I don't think that there are two places like this in San Francisco: Value for money is impossible to be beaten.
Good location on the Union Square edge of Chinatown and a 20 minute walk to North Beach and SOMA. The hotel feels boutique-y and smaller than it is, with rooms that are nicely appointed and a very comfy bed. While we were in town there was the annual Lunar Festival a few blocks over so the area was especially lively with street carnivals, food and musical performances.
Great location, 2 min walk to Union Square and cable car to Fishermans Wharf on the same block.
Open and welcoming reception/lobby area and helpful staff.
Room and main area of the hotel was always clean and tidy.
Water bottle refill station was a bonus and free popcorn, apples and cookies, also free tea and coffee in the lobby.
The staff were friendly, the hotel was clean and we felt safe in the hotel. Although the overall general area is in downtown San Francisco and there is a homeless problem, we did not experience any major issues. Our car was kept safe next to the hotel in the parking area. There are lots of food options and UberEats in the area.
One of the best value hotels near near Union Square, it's a bit of a hike up the hill to get there but that's San Francisco for you! Rooms are small (but comfortable), toilet/shower facilities are shared but never encountered a queue and they were always clean.
Perfect location for getting to all areas around Union Square and for walking further across the city. Loved the views from nearby Nob Hill and plenty of places for a wonderful breakfast, including the cafe attached to the hotel, around.
Nice hotel close to Union Square and Powel st/Market public transit. Clean and nice room with kitchenette. Sofabed not so comfortable, but most of them are not. Nice "Club room" on top floor with seating area and coffee/tea.
location is superb, walking distance to union square, westfield mall and close to cable car stop, staff is very warm, room is spacious, amenities are complete, comfortable bed, clean room, best view for nob hill area.
The hotel is very well located in the heart of San Francisco's Financial District, right next to Union Square.
The room is great, with a great mattress and pillows.
The shower was also great.
Old school hotel just off Union Square which is fairly central San Francisco. The room was okay. Bed was comfy. Looked onto a street which could be a bit noisy late at night, but central SF.
Very nice hotel located in nice area of San Francisco. Easy connection to the downtown by bus that stops around the corner. A lot of restaurants around. Big rooms with very comfortable beds.
Very comfortable apartment, well located close to union square but on a quiet street. Clean and tidy, very good service. Best place for a family in San Francisco.
Despite being really close to Tenderloin the location of the hotel is great. Close to Union Square and within walking distance to Downtown and Embarcadero.
The bed was very comfortable and the view was phenomenal. The location was central if you want to be in the downtown / union square area near market st.
