Location was good but for what we paid we wouldn’t stay there again. Was more of a business hotel and a family friendly. Wouldn’t recommend staying here if you have kids. Very overpriced.

Home to one of America’s icons – the Golden Gate Bridge – San Francisco is a liberal city where life is very much for the living.
Surrounded on 3 sides by water, it is spread over steep hills that make for great photo opportunities. None better than the zig-zag Lombard Street seen in many a film. Other movie stars are the streetcars plying the hill climbs – a little touristy, but still worth trying.
In the middle of the bay is Alcatraz island, famed for the notorious criminals once imprisoned there. Even if you don’t fancy going inside, the views towards the bridge and city are unparalleled.
Nowhere in San Francisco is life more laidback than on the Pacific beaches. Hire a bike and head out there via the huge Golden Gate Park, before returning to sample some fresh seafood at Fisherman’s Wharf. The clam chowder served in (yes, actually in!) bread is a delight. Chinatown also has a great selection of good value restaurants.
As you fly into San Francisco Airport, look out for the exclusive homes lining the Bay Area. Whether you want to stay in apartments along those lines, luxury San Francisco hotels or cheap hostels, Booking.com has something to suit. Be careful though – you might just leave your heart here.
There is lots to see in the City and surrounding areas.
There is lots to see in the City and surrounding areas. It was pretty clean for a large American City. The internationally renowned sites (Golden Gate Bridge, Pier 39, Cable Cars etc.) did not disappoint for a first time visit.
Staying out of the core of the City is advised unless you want to see the most unfortunate of people with severe drug problems. Ask which areas to avoid.
Taking a local tour such as the buses that allow you to get off and on at various stops is recommended at least once, at the beginning of your trip.
I would like to go back to San Francisco again.

Great restaurants although the added fees ie taxes tips etc are too high and discouraging. For example I usually eat at Sears an historic restaurant next to the Chancellor. However, I took my two grandsons there for breakfast and my bill came to $77 but with the add ons totaled $101. Needless to say I won't be having breakfast there again.
Using public transportation is another plus. It's relatively cheap and as a senior I travel free. Great way to get around town and to see the city.
Fisherman's Wharf is always crowded but there are some cool shops like a poster store and a hot sauce store. Japantown also has great shopping. Cheesecake Factory has great view of the city.
Noticeable police presence around Union Square.

I go to San Francisco frequently for concerts, and I love staying overnight and going out for dinner and cocktails. Union Square was pleasant with Flowers in Bloom, a local theme to beautify the Union Square area. Casual pre-show bite to eat at Osha Thai in the TL. My show was at the Great American Music Hall, I had breakfast at The Post Room in the Beacon Grand Hotel, and coffee and desserts from Miller & Lux Provisions Cafe.

Lots to see, a long weekend is the perfect amount of time.
Lots to see, a long weekend is the perfect amount of time. The hop on hop off bus is great to get you *close* to destinations, but don’t plan on seeing from the bus unless you hop off! The trip to see the Golden State bridge was great!
Despite it being super touristy, the Wharf hosted some really good restaurants and shopping was great. The trips to Alcatraz sell out, so buy ahead of time if you can! (They leave from pier 33). We saw magician Jay Alexander at the Marrakesh club.. he was amazing!!! Highly reccomend the show!… last, dress in layers! Have fun!

We originally booked a hotel in Union Square, but upon arrival, immediately changed hotel to one out on Fisherman's Wharf. My partner and I didn't feel safe or comfortable in the city, and we weren't about to walk the streets like we originally planned. Unfortunately, drugs and homelessness are rife in the city.
While Fisherman's Wharf is packed with tourists, we felt a lot safer and were able to enjoy walking along the bay during the day. Plus, there were plenty of food and gift shop options to keep us occupied.
A tour of Alcatraz is a must if you are visiting San Fran, and going to a baseball game at Oracle Park was also a memorable experience.

Ate breakfast at the Blue Mermaid - It was Excellent. The staff were helpful on things to do in the area.
Hotel is in an excellent location for just about anything in the area!
Hotel lobby was inviting and a wine tasting was just next door.
Clean, wonderful staff, and great location.
I really liked the complementary coffee and lounge area. As for the room, it was indeed very small. I didn’t mind that much as I was staying outside the hotel for the whole day but the space would be too small if you’d like to spend more time there. Also the location was not the best - on one hand in the downtown, close to train station and many attractions, but on the other just in the middle of the biggest homeless camps in San Francisco. You need to move through them to get to entrance, almost literally:(
WE had excellent service, good food at breakfast and good selection. Nice touch having the wine hour from 5-6pm. The location was great. We walked to the munibus to catch downtown, only 3 blocks away. Nice having the beautiful park across the street to walk in and enjoy a coffee. We also caught the big bus tour just down on Haight and that area had nice restaurants in it. Overall it was all easy access to lots of ammenities! Would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in San Francisco!
Beautiful place, clean, and cozy. Staff was exceptionally nice and helpful; I very much appreciated the heads up on areas of the city I should avoid at night. Room size was perfect for me as I was by myself, and the bed was really comfy! The best part are the individual parking garages; I haven't felt as safe or comfortable leaving my car somewhere in San Francisco as I did staying here. That alone makes this well worth the price. I will absolutely come back to this hotel!
Very well located for Union Square, Chinatown, North Beach and Embarcadero areas of San Francisco and we were able to walk to most places easily from this hotel. The staff were friendly, and the quirky rooms were spacious. There was a simple continental breakfast included, which we were satisfied with on one occasion although we did choose to go out for brunch one morning instead. There is a complimentary wine hour in the evening, with snacks, which was a nice touch.
If you're ever in SF the mission area is the best! Union hotel is especially 🔥 It's got security close by because of the dance club next door and it's gated. Check out San Francisco ya'll. My Grandmother was right. It's nice! #travel
The "Sandwich Place" across the street has the best fucking sandwiches. Tell him Amos sent you and I bet he'll laugh :) Good people for real!

There is nothing good to say about the hotel, the rooms are tired and worn, the restaurant for breakfast was dreadful, the location is “crime central” the location is no fault of the hotel but if your staying in Union Square at any hotel you are just a few metres from Tenderloin, if you don’t know this area it’s city centre drug crime and homeless area a total disgrace to America.
Hotel Cornell de France is in an excellent spot in San Francisco located within blocks the business district, the theatre district, China Town, Union Square and shopping. I like to get a little exercise in the morning and there were some nice hills to walk up and down yet good breakfast and lunch restaurants on a flat area right out the door. It's an awesome spot.
Loved hotel Nikko. The room was great size, bed super comfortable, everything was modern and well maintained. I stayed there with my 3yo son, and we enjoyed all the facilities, including the pool and jacuzzi. The hotel is in a great location, close to supermarket, restaurants, transport and attractions in downtown - Cable car, Macys, Union Square.
Location - much better than I expected. I was worried it was a little too close to the area I had been told to avoid, but in fact was very nice (next to union square) and was very convenient to travel around the city.
Room - Large room, comfortable bed, nice bathroom.
Hotel - lovely building with great interiors. Very atmospheric/ historic
The location was everything. Located in downtown, close by to the mall, movies, restaurants, and union square. The beds were extremely comfy and the room was very spacious. Room comes with an empty refrigerator which is great, unlike other hotels in SF that have items inside for you to purchase, which leaves no space to put items.
Great location, 2 min walk to Union Square and cable car to Fishermans Wharf on the same block.
Open and welcoming reception/lobby area and helpful staff.
Room and main area of the hotel was always clean and tidy.
Water bottle refill station was a bonus and free popcorn, apples and cookies, also free tea and coffee in the lobby.
The rooms and views were amazing. My bed was the best bed I ever slept in - it was like sleeping on a cloud. Room was spacious (although bathroom was tiny) and clean. Hotel was in a good location not far from Union square and very short stroll to public transport. We absolutely loved it here and would come back.
This place has a very cozy vibe especially considering the area that attend is not that great. But they can't change that. they can control what they have inside, and they do a great job Every time I'm here. As far as best Bang for your buck when it comes To hotel rooms in San Francisco. This is it definitely
Receptionist was great and supportive. Overall facility is a simple one with no frills but is decent for a couple of nights. Rustic touch with interiors which I liked a lot!
Access to key areas like union square or cable car stops which are a very short walk from the hotel! Very good location.
The room I have is spacious and staff there are friendly. The hotel is new and very near to hop on hop off bus stop. Walking distance to Union Square as well. The most important, provide service to keep the luggage which I saw many of San Francisco Hotel doesn't provide this service.
This is the best stay I have enjoyed in San Francisco! The location was convenient with easy access and short walk to the bus service to get downtown.
The room was clean and pleasant, we could have had a better view, but maybe that is reserved for the suites?
The hotel is very well located near Chinatown and Union Square and in a quiet area. There is also a BART station nearby.
The room was nice, not very big, but enough to be comfortable. There are many options nearby for breakfast. Very friendly staff
The hotel also hosts the San Francisco Playhouse. Currently they’re showing a chorus line, which we went and saw. But they have shows throughout the year in the theater is an excellent place to visit if you’re staying near Union Square.
The location of the hotel is great. Next to Union Square, next to the subway (BART), cable car and bus stops. There are a couple of grocery stores and many restaurants and coffee shops in the area.
If you wish to spend more time at the piers a d tourist places this is a great location. Union square has some great hotels but it’s more of a business area.
