Large room with a great view, and just a few steps away from Jiufen old street. You can tell the property is loved by its owners and staff as it is clean and full of warmth.

Getting to check in early was a nice treat. The location is just outside of town, so it's super quiet. The space was small, but as functional as it could be. AC was super cold.

The owner is very accommodating. The room is well-maintained and there is no odor from the pillows through the quilt. I love 106 homestay. 😍

Jiufen is a lovely place, but you already know this if you are considering to stay here. Many jump on an organised tour and do the Old Street in half a day but staying for the night was the right decision. First of all, you got the place to yourself in the morning -the shops are closed but nobody is going to push ahead of you to take photos and it will be quiet. There are quite a few options in Jiufen and I am very happy with mine! I got here mid day on an empty bus from Taipei, I was not in a rush as you check in after 16.00. You can leave the bags which the owner when you are exploring the area. The owners are a sweet family. They don’t speak any English so kudos to them for hosting so many foreigners which so much grace. The neighbour is likely to help with the check in, which is super smooth. Key points - if you are arriving with lots of luggage, take a taxi as manoeuvring the old street with heavy luggage is tough with the crowds. The car will drop you outside the doorstep. If coming by bus - it is relatively easy - see the 7 eleven sign at the beginning of Old Street -and start walking. You need to walk the entire street until you see a house with 267 number. This is the place. The walk is maybe 10 mins if you are a quick walker. See the photo for the entrance. I walked past it a few times. The room was super comfy, with a nice big bed and spacious bathroom. Air con works well and there was also a dehumidifier. The owner asks for your breakfast preference -this was the best meal for me - fully vegan deliver to the room at 9.30 am. Go and explore before, fancy a coffee? Family mart, you will have walked past it exiting the bus, offers decent coffee -places don’t open before 10,11. Breakfast was abundant, took half for my lunch and it arrives with iced tea. I enjoyed my stay! Got to see an incredible sunrise. If you are a light sleeper, take an eye mask as the curtains don’t hide light that well.

Homestay was very comfortable (especially the bed), room is clean (like brand new). Location wise, much further from other homestays in the Jiufen area, but it also means that it is more peaceful and calm in the area. Owner is enthusiastic and kind. Breakfast was packed for us with soy bean and sandwich bread - delicious!
