The water is a beautiful blue and crystal clear except for the tins of seaweed floating and washed up on shore. We had to step on at least 5 feet of rotting, smelly seaweed, loaded with sand fleas to get in the water. We couldn’t go deep either because there were red flags cautioning string rip tide.

The beach was beautiful but not well maintained.

The beach was beautiful but not well maintained. There was some trash around and lots of dead seaweed. It could have been groomed better but the water was nice. A few food booths but the bathrooms were made out of plywood. We expected better infrastructure. Maybe there had been hurricane damage and they still had not repaired stuff.

My family went to Flamenco Beach two times on our trip. Both times we ended up at the far end of the beach by the old, military tank. The water is calm, which was perfect for the kids and we saw a lot of fish in this area.
