The hotel was beautiful and the rooms as well. The location was great, in the historic center of Malacca, and the staff was very friendly. The breakfast was also nice, and it was served in the beautiful terrace they have at the back of the hotel, by the water.

I really love this place, the interior design, the landscape and the scent surrounding it. Very comfortable stay at beautiful place. Upon check in they served us with some kind of refreshing lemongrass drink and in our room also have welcoming notes with an apple, biscuits & candy. When I read review they said something about sound from nearby mosque. But I did not hear anything.

FAQs about hotels in Melaka

History and Culture in Equal Measure

Historic Melaka (or Malacca) is the capital of the Malaysian state of the same name, home to one of the country’s first sultanates. The replica of the sultan’s palace is one of the city’s top attractions.

The end of the sultanate came with the Portuguese conquest of Melaka in the 16th century. Reminders of this period include part of A Famosa fort, and there is also a fort built by the next settlers – the Dutch. Several Dutch churches also remain, including Christ Church with its pinkish façade.

Nowadays, Melaka is a melting pot of various cultures, and Chinese temples – such as wonderful Cheng Hoon Teng – sit happily alongside Hindu temples and mosques. The most spectacularly located of the latter is Masjid Selat (or Malacca Straits Mosque), on stilts above waters lapping an offshore island.

Many Melaka hotels on Booking.com are near the promenade lining the narrow city beach, and others are near more secluded beaches in the suburbs. The Melaka River splits the city into 2, and the further inland you travel along it, the more traditional the buildings become.

Just before the river’s first bend is Jonker Street, the heart of Chinatown and popular for its night markets, while a good few miles to the north is Melaka Airport in the Batu Berendam district.

The Malacca town are very beautiful and it is one of the clean and neat towns in Malaysia. There are varieties of food everywhere here. Suitable place to visit with families and one of my favourite is Taming Sari Tower, where you can view Malacca from above.Baba Nyonya cuisine is a must try in here along with the trishaw(beca) drive. Beautiful, serene gardens which offered tranquility not far from all the renowned attractions of Melacca. The pool was so lovely and peaceful. Hosts are amazing, so helpful and went far and beyond expectations. It was good to stay in a Dutch heritage home and support some Malacca history. This offered a better and more personal experience to hotels and is highly recommended.
