Fantastic little campsite in the middle of the Sri Lankan bush, only accessible by 4WD. Head in here and feel the serenity. With just the two tents it's a small, perfectly-formed operation run by the wonderful host Nero, who not only looks after your every need but whips up amazing meals in his little camp kitchen, served on a table under the stars, with a bonfire to complete the magic. In the morning Nero took us on a safari in the nearby Yala National Park, which was magical at sunrise. Highly recommended.

Beautiful hotel from the rooms to the common areas. Very friendly service, nice restaurant and incredible sunset from the pool. They also had a bonfire in the evening which was fun to watch. The BBQ was nice but 1 portion is enough for 2 people. Overall, very good value for money. Happy to have stayed for 1 night.

We visited Yala for two days (with two separate game drives - one evening and one morning one) and although we enjoyed the animals we observed, we did not have any sightings of leopards despite being the national park with the highest concentration in the world. But that is nature so we were just unlucky on those days. However, the most disappointing aspect of Yala was the sheer number of vehicles allowed into the park at one time. As soon as elephants or leopards are sighted, drivers communicate among themselves and vehicles all rush to the scene creating a massive traffic jams. This makes it feel very mass market and doesn’t seem very respectful of the wildlife

Terrible time. No wild animals as expected.
Terrible time. No wild animals as expected. Roads are all around the jungle which is pretty disturbing to the wild life. After all it is supposed to be a protected zone for wild life. Jeeps are crawling every corner of the territory. Amused to see all of that disturbing scenes in a wild life protected zone. It's like business zone. Poor animals.

I loved Yala.
I loved Yala. The number of different animals seen was slightly disappointing but apparently wash outs due to rain prevented us from accessing some internal roads. The sunrise and scenery were stunning. I would rate it as good value despite the lack of animals. The whole experience was wonderful.

The national park in Yala is beautiful however it is hard to drive around as the roads are poorly maintained. There is a large populatin of birds and i think this safari would suit bird watchers more than those who want to see the elephants. The 6am -6pm safari is too long.
Sigiriya is far superior when it comes to large herds of elephants.

The hike in the nature reserve was amazing, we saw lots of amazing animals and landscapes.
Were lucky and we were able to meet the tiger as well.
It is important to note that the trip should take drinks and food, the hotel staff where we were did not tell us the length of the trip and did not make sure to let us know that we should take care of ourselves.
Of course we were smarter and brought with us the necessary equipment ..
But there were those next to us who did not and that was unfortunate

We stayed at Laya Beach resort which was very beautiful and was very close to our safari's which made our stay even better.
The beach, however, was too rough to swim which was a little disappointing.
Leopard Trails is one of the more unique hotel options in Sri Lanka and especially around Yala National Park. Our dedicated Guide/assistant for all things at the hotel and in the Park was especially lovely, efficient and useful to have. The food was excellent and plentiful and the chef was especially kind in providing special requests. Every meal was presented nicely and it never felt like we were in a tented camp but rather a semi-outdoor restaurant with gorgeous lighting in the evening and elegant meals throughout our stay
I stayed a few nights with a friend primarily to do a safari in Yala National park. The hotel is very nice, clean with friendly and helpful staff. The facilities, especially the Gym and SPA (for massages) are very good.
The highlight of our trip was the full day Safari which the front desk organised for us. We had the best driver with great knowledge of the best spots to see the wildlife we wanted. He made the experience truly magical. I would definitely recommend asking the front desk to organise it with Madushanka.
This camping site is in a good position.Afternoon walk and afternoon tea are free so far, especially afternoon walk is worth to go for,I saw a lot of monkeys and birds, because we just walked beside the fence of Yala National Park.
The dinner is delicious, including a bowl of soup ,roast chicken and sea fish, dessert,of course it’s not free.In the night, I saw some of the fireflies.when I waked up,I heard different birds singing. It’s very nice.
You can take a hot shower in the tent.but the water is salty.
The Hilton Yala was a very unique state of the art property in the middle of a National Park!
The hotel grounds, pool, architecture, and overall layout were stunning and something we haven’t experienced before.
However what made this one of the most memorable experience for us is the amazing and ever smiling staff right from the reception, kitchen, and room service staff.
Their executive chef was always there smiling and greeting the guests which made this super special!
Amazing service, giving the best effort to make an unique experience.
Despite camping, the rooms seems like a good hotel with large comfortable room.
We stayed one night only, 2 could have been better for the safari and enjoy more the hotel.
It was during our honeymoon and they made sure everything was pretty special.
Special attention from food and beverage manager who seemed to be running the whole place, making sure everything worked out
This hotel is beautifully located in the Yala park. You get to see a lot of wildlife without even leaving the hotel. We saw crocodiles, water buffalo, lots of beautiful birds, wild boar roaming the hotel and of course monkeys. The food was one of the best. In the evening you have to be escorted back to your room for safety reasons, there was always staff there to help and this was not a problem.
Huge villa with an immersive jungle experience! The villa has a beautiful and unique interior, including a real tree, and has great views (I spotted an elephant from the rooftop!). The staff was extremely helpful, accommodating, and friendly. They repeatedly went out of their way to make sure we had the best possible experience. The amazing staff really made this hotel stand apart from others.
Situated near Yala National Park and Palatupana Beach, it's a haven for adventure seekers and relaxation enthusiasts alike. From exciting safaris to tranquil evenings by the BBQ, every experience was unforgettable. The staff was incredibly welcoming, and the accommodations were both comfortable and charming. We wholeheartedly recommend Yakaduru for a truly unique getaway!
Fantastic property with stunning scenes even as you enter, and as you walk around = on a beach, near a jungle (national park) and with a few mountains in the background; Excellent night sky views when not cloudy
Swimming pool looked superb (but we didn't end up using)
Rooms are large and have great amenities including fast wifi across the hotel
Good value for money
These villas are amazing! Plenty of room for our family of five. Small property (only two villas) with very attentive service and fantastic manager and staff. Food was great and the surroundings are truly unique - a short trip to Yala and a short walk to the beach (although not safe to swim at the closest one - which was fine as a it was a lovely walk and view.
Just the best hotel in Yala for sure. The pool is incredible in front of the rice fields.
You can also have a romantic dinner near the fire each night.
Good food, good service, good room !
It's an experience by itself and show the best of Sri Lanka and sri lankans.
Thanks for all, you're amazing guys.
the rooms were spacious, the food was delicious, the staff was wonderful...the experience of "glamping" in the national park surrounded by nature and no walls was quite exciting. The safari was fun, the food provided was great, and we had a BBQ night which exceeded our expectations.
My friends and me had a very nice stay in this hotel. The house was clean, calm, and the staff was really nice. We took the safari trip to yala with them also and we don’t regret it. It was really well organised and the guide was so motivated! So go for it!
Aqua Hotel Yala offers a perfect blend of hospitality and cleanliness. The staff were incredibly helpful, and the rooms were spotless. Its proximity to the national park makes it a top choice for both explorers and those seeking tranquility.
Such a different room (or I should say tent) style, eveything was as expected from a 5 star hotel. Stayed 1 night, breakfast & dinner options and taste were really good.
