Fantastic little campsite in the middle of the Sri Lankan bush, only accessible by 4WD. Head in here and feel the serenity. With just the two tents it's a small, perfectly formed operation run by the wonderful host Nero, who not only looks after your every need but whips up amazing meals in his little camp kitchen, served on a table under the stars, with a bonfire to complete the magic.

We visited Yala for two days (with two separate game drives - one evening and one morning one) and although we enjoyed the animals we observed, we did not have any sightings of leopards despite being the national park with the highest concentration in the world. But that is nature so we were just unlucky on those days. However, the most disappointing aspect of Yala was the sheer number of vehicles allowed into the park at one time. As soon as elephants or leopards are sighted, drivers communicate among themselves and vehicles all rush to the scene creating a massive traffic jams. This makes it feel very mass market and doesn’t seem very respectful of the wildlife

Terrible time. No wild animals as expected.
Terrible time. No wild animals as expected. Roads are all around the jungle which is pretty disturbing to the wild life. After all it is supposed to be a protected zone for wild life. Jeeps are crawling every corner of the territory. Amused to see all of that disturbing scenes in a wild life protected zone. It's like business zone. Poor animals.

I loved Yala.
I loved Yala. The number of different animals seen was slightly disappointing but apparently wash outs due to rain prevented us from accessing some internal roads. The sunrise and scenery were stunning. I would rate it as good value despite the lack of animals. The whole experience was wonderful.

The national park in Yala is beautiful however it is hard to drive around as the roads are poorly maintained. There is a large populatin of birds and i think this safari would suit bird watchers more than those who want to see the elephants. The 6am -6pm safari is too long.
Sigiriya is far superior when it comes to large herds of elephants.

The hike in the nature reserve was amazing, we saw lots of amazing animals and landscapes.
Were lucky and we were able to meet the tiger as well.
It is important to note that the trip should take drinks and food, the hotel staff where we were did not tell us the length of the trip and did not make sure to let us know that we should take care of ourselves.
Of course we were smarter and brought with us the necessary equipment ..
But there were those next to us who did not and that was unfortunate

We stayed at Laya Beach resort which was very beautiful and was very close to our safari's which made our stay even better.
The beach, however, was too rough to swim which was a little disappointing.
We loved everything about this hotel! As this is a small hotel (only 3 rooms), we were the only guests (we booked 2 rooms here). Everything looks like new, there’s a nice pool zone, you can reach beach on foot (takes less than 10 minutes). The staff was amazing and we couldn’t imagine a better service. They prepared a lunch box for our 5AM Yala safari tour. We also had lunch and dinner here - the food was amazing and the portions were huge. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who considers having a safari at Yala national park!
The staff at the Yala Hotel went above and beyond to ensure my comfort. Their warm welcome and genuine smiles made me feel right at home. This was a campsite with power supplied by cells and water trucked in every four days.
During the first night, they lit special candle lanterns around our site just to make the place warm and cozy.
Just before we left, Indika the manager gave me the opportunity to plant an orange tree on the grounds. He promised to send me photos of the progress. I am looking forward to it.
Leopard Nest Glamping in Yala offers a unique and luxurious camping experience amidst nature. The tents are well-appointed with comfortable beds, private bathrooms, and stunning views of the surrounding wilderness. The staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring a memorable stay. The location is perfect for safari enthusiasts, providing easy access to Yala National Park where you can spot leopards, elephants, and other wildlife. Overall, it's an ideal spot for those seeking adventure with a touch of comfort.
The exceptionally nice and friendly staff and the close location to the entrance of Yala National Park made this stay close to nature very special. We felt very well taken care of and were very happy of our choice to stay at Yakaduru camp. Very knowledgeable Nishanta took us for a very interesting bush walk with lots of insights about local wildlife and community. The full day safari - also organized by the friendly staff - was full of wildlife sightings and definitely recommendable.
We had an amazing stay at Cinnamon Wild Yala. The hotel is beautiful and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. we organised a safari through the hotel - our driver was very respectful of the animals and really knowledgeable. We were lucky enough to see a leopard as well as a whole host of other animals. It was probably one of favourite days in Sri Lanka. Amazing place to splash out and spend a few nights, especially if you are planning a safari in Yala.
Wow! Honestly could not recommend this stay when staying in Yala. The staff are absolutely amazing and made the trip so much more enjoyable and stress free. I loved my time here so much and we extended our stay. The tent was immaculate and a lot nicer than most hostels we have stayed in. It was so close to the national park yet so very secure. The camp site itself is lovely. I really really couldn’t recommend it enough. You will not be disappointed.
Dont book this hotel. Dishonest owner. Did not keep his promise n attached our WhatsApp conversation. I regret the choice of accommodation. The Wild Trails Yala & Wild Trails Yala by Suri are the same hotels. They don't have a water heater, n we had to shower in cold, miserable poor water pressure water n bed frame was broken n did not fix it. Mattress was placed on the floor. Overpriced with dated property
Huge villa with an immersive jungle experience! The villa has a beautiful and unique interior, including a real tree, and has great views (I spotted an elephant from the rooftop!). The staff was extremely helpful, accommodating, and friendly. They repeatedly went out of their way to make sure we had the best possible experience. The amazing staff really made this hotel stand apart from others.
Leopard Nest Glamping in Yala offers a unique and unforgettable experience. The tents are luxurious, blending comfort with nature seamlessly. The location amidst the wilderness adds to the charm, offering glimpses of wildlife. The staff is attentive and the food is delicious. A perfect escape for nature enthusiasts seeking a touch of luxury.
The tents were super comfortable and clean. The atmosphere was so nice, pitch dark at night with fireflies all around. There are peacocks, all kinds of birds, cows, dogs in the hotel perimeter, kids enjoyed a lot. Dinner (bbq) and breakfast was good and filling. It is approx 25 min away from Yala National park entrance, so it is convenient.
The location in nature, the superb rooms, the service and the staff. The personal service and attention to detail, the boutique nature of the property. A special mention has to go to Upul who looked after us like his own - preparing breakfast on the lawn, dinner by the pool and treating us like his family - he is 5 star ! ⭐️
Great location if you plan to safari as it’s right in the Yala national park. Secluded so once here you have to use all the hotel amenities but they’re excellent so no complaints here. The food and service was superb throughout our 2 night 3 day stay. Would recommend if visiting Yala national park for sure.
Aqua Hotel Yala sets the standard for excellence! The attentive staff ensured every need was met, and the rooms were impeccably clean and comfortable. After a day of wildlife spotting in the national park, coming back to such a welcoming atmosphere was the cherry on top of an amazing adventure.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. Reaching the hotel was a real adventure because there had been a flood at Yala National Park two days before and the transfer from Tissa required a full size safari vehicle. This is peaceful and relaxed place in the jungle.
Right in the heart of the Yala National Park, Uga Chena Huts was an incredible experience! Expertly guided morning and afternoon safaris to spot jungle animals, incredible facilities and food, and the kindest staff offering excellent service. A sensory immersion we will never forget!
Amazing gem by Yala NP. We had the privilege of staying there two nights... But wish it could've been longer. Loved the dogs on the property and glad to see they are well taken care of. Staff were super helpful and kind. Also the cocktails are among the best I've had
The location of the property is amazing. it is located on a virgin beach and it is just next to Yala National Park for people who is looking for Safari trip. The service and the food were really good and tasty.
Such a different room (or I should say tent) style, eveything was as expected from a 5 star hotel. Stayed 1 night, breakfast & dinner options and taste were really good.
Adventure in the wilderness of Yala. Great hotel , very delicious traditional cuisine.
All types of birds, insects, and even snakes are there.
Very recommended
