The Royal Park Hotel Iconic Tokyo Shiodome, hotel in Tokyo

Conveniently situated within a 3-minute walk from Shinbashi and Shiodome stations, The Royal Park Iconic Tokyo Shiodome is modern and stylish accommodation.

Fantastic hotel. Great location with a train station at your front door so very easy to access other areas of Tokyo. A Family Mart right outside the door which is handy. Room is quite large and spacious compared to other 4 star hotels in Tokyo. Very comfortable and very clean. Good amenities given which is a nice touch. Laundry service for doing laundry is great. Would stay here again. Direct train from station outside hotel to Haneda airport - which only takes 28 minutes - which was a factor in why we choose this hotel to stay in to end our trip in Tokyo. But it was one of our favourite hotels from our trip to Japan.

FAQs about hotels in Tokyo

See It to Believe It!

The capital of Japan, Tokyo is a vast, teeming metropolis nestled between mountains and Tokyo Bay. It’s so huge that you’ll have to come to grips with public transport and maybe even experience being pushed onto a train. Yes, it does actually happen!

Get your bearings by ascending the Tokyo World Trade Centre near the waterfront, and savour the fantastic views taking in the red-and-white Tokyo Tower and Shinkuju’s skyscrapers. North is Ueno, home to the best museums (including the Tokyo National Museum) and a large park bursting with cherry blossom in spring.

Equally tranquil are the Chiyoda Imperial Palace and Gardens, surrounded by water. Also in gardens is the Meiji Jingu Shinto shrine in Shibuya, a youthful district where neon abounds.

For more traditional Japanese culture, head to Asakusa whose Sensō-ji Buddhist temple is Tokyo’s oldest temple. Markets in the grounds sell a variety of wares, though shopping in Tokyo is, of course, fantastic wherever you go.

Whether you stay in a Japanese ryokan, luxury Tokyo hotel or a hostel, don’t fly out of Tokyo Narita Airport or Haneda Airport without having tried sushi. Another Japanese institution is the sento (public bath) and onsen (hot springs bath) – a must try. Also incredibly popular are Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, Asia’s 2 most visited theme parks.

As a wheelchair user it is very easy to get around Tokyo, the transportation system is almost barrier-free. We loved it. It is difficult to find places to eat as a wheelchair user as the spaces are narrow, are located in a second floor, are standing-type or only high chair types.

Iriya station on Hibiya Line is conveniently located 3mins away ftom Minn Iriya. Its one station away to Ueno, and without changing line, you can get to Akihabara, Ginza and Tsukiji stations. There is a supermart nearby. We like that the bath and toilet is big and clean, and we were able to do our laundry.

A first class destination, but some people may be concerned about the crowds in a lot of areas. It would pay to be informed regarding the transport system as for first timers it could be quite daunting.

Tokyo is a place I would recommend for 3-4 days. For longer stays it must be tiring. It's noisy, lots of people. You can feel that it is the capital. The city has great public transport. You can get everywhere by train and underground. Great restaurants and shops.

Tokyo was a wonderful surprise...super friendly locals and all the signs and announcements are in English! Super clean, no graffiti, no tooting mopeds - in fact very little traffic as everyone walks and takes the trains. Which are super efficient as there are heaps of Train Lines going in every direction, so its easy to criss cross the city. Very safe walking in the streets too! And the food is SO good!

the rooms are very small but it was ok for me that I was alone but my friends were family and honestly was impossible for them to move around the room. the locatation is not walkable to any of the tourist attractions and there are not much around the hotel so you need to take a metro to go to those places. the place was really clean though and what I loved the most is that they has even hair band in the room which it was so handy as I lost mine one day and used that hahhaha

Great location, it's a short 5-10min walk from Shibuya JR Station and the subway. A lot of shops and food options within the Miyashita Park complex, plus always something interesting happening at the park itself. Great cafe inside the hotel. Rooms are modern, comfortable beds and clean. Great to have a park view as well. The staff were also very attentive and friendly, and assisted whenever we needed help.

Clean, very quiet and peaceful. The design and decoration are more tasteful than the modern hotels. The staff are very friendly too. The location is very quiet but behind the hotel is a attractive neighbourhood with small bars, coffee shops and restaurants. Close to Chiyoda and JR rail lines. Shibuya is 10 minutes on foot.
