Staff and Service were Exceptional. The location was excellent with its own lift access from the Subway station. Easy to connect to all the sights. The room was good and quiet despite the street works in the road outside. The hotel bar was a pleasant place to relax at the end of the day.

At the meeting point of river and sea, huge Osaka combines forward-thinking development and sure-footed tradition. This is symbolised in its temple-like, 16th century castle, guarded by ramparts and enlivened by vibrant spring cherry blossom. Dominating the surrounding skyline is Osaka Business Park, a reminder of the city’s strong role in the Japanese economy.
However, the most striking skyscraper is the Umeda Sky Building - 2 towers connected by a rooftop terrace offering far-reaching views. The nearby Osaka and Umeda train stations are linked by underground shopping centres, while the shops of Shinsaibashi’s America Village appeal to a younger crowd. Dōtonbori’s neon lights promote more shops, as well as restaurants considered the best in Osaka. In a city touted as Japan’s culinary capital, that’s quite an accolade.
The Tsūtenkaku tower overlooks Tennōji Park, home of the Osaka Municipal Museum of Art. Another nearby park houses Shitennō-ji, one of Japan’s oldest Buddhist temples.
The Kyocera Dome Osaka is a shrine of baseball, and more thrills are at waterfront Universal Studios Japan, the country’s 2nd largest theme park. Also by the sea is Kansai International Airport, on its own artificial island.
The capsule hotel was invented in Osaka, and alongside this type of accommodation, Booking.com also offers luxury hotels with pools, cheap hostels and traditional ryokans.
We enjoyed with this city. Get lost is normal but you will see place and thing interesting on the way. Bring a good shoe as you have to walked a lot. Fine a local restaurant then you will see a real food and reasonable price.

Travelling by trains is convenient but very confusing and tiring as so many lines and a lot of walking (try the bus pls). JR West Wide Area is a must to cut cost for JR lines including Shinkaisen Bullet Trains. Just take note it doesn't cover subways and bullet train from Osaka to Kyoto (need to take Haruka Express which is also best transport from Osaka to Kansai Airport on another island). Take note both suica and icoco cards can be used in subways like Osaka Metro and Kyoto Subway.
A more traditional cultural city with castles and parks to see in the middle of a modern cityscape for Himeji, Kyoto (must visit the Arishimaya Bamboo forest!) and Osaka. Nara Park deers are too aggressive in their feeding. so get used to it. Kobe is the best scenic place so far as can ripe the ropeway up to the Herb Garden. And try out their Kobe Wagyu beef - the best in the world although you can eat in Osaka too.
As for accommodation, just be aware that Osaka hotels are very small but conveniently located near train stations. As for the rest of the cities, should be bigger if you can find one at the outskirts.

It's a slower pace compared to Tokyo. Love the friendly locals, culture and environment in Osaka! And definitely the FOOD!
Prefer winter or spring to visit Japan coz it's raining season currently.

Osaka captivated me with its dynamic blend of modernity and lights. From the bustling streets of Dotonbori to the serene grounds of Osaka Castle, this city offers an incredible array of experiences. The food scene alone is reason enough to visit, with mouthwatering street food and Michelin-starred restaurants alike.
What truly amazed me about Osaka, however, was its accessibility to stunning day trips. Within an hour's reach by train, you can find yourself in Kyoto, a city steeped in history with its ancient temples and gardens. Nara, famous for its friendly deer and monumental Great Buddha, is also easily accessible.
Venturing a bit farther, the serene landscapes of Mount Koya offer a spiritual retreat amidst towering cedar trees and centuries-old Buddhist temples. Meanwhile, the coastal town of Kobe beckons with its scenic harbor and world-renowned Kobe beef.
Osaka itself is a city that never sleeps, pulsating with energy day and night. Yet, its proximity to such diverse and enriching day trips makes it a perfect hub for exploring the cultural and natural wonders of Japan. Whether you're a food enthusiast, history buff, or nature lover, Osaka promises an unforgettable journey through its vibrant streets and beyond.

Right by the train station and major stores, Easy to get to the aquarium. Staff was kind, in spite of the language barrier, and offered to hold our luggage and put it in the room when it was ready.
Note: breakfast is extra, but worth it! Order and pay ahead of time.
Beds were comfy and we slept really well!

Dynamic, fresh and sophisticated city.
Dynamic, fresh and sophisticated city.
Very well put together with train and subway going everywhere you need !
Locals are very friendly, we got helped by an old man because we were lost and he showed us the way to the subway, the system about Icoca card and was truely an amazing person !
He stayed with us at least 15min, showing us around the station. I will never forget him !
Overall, Osaka exceeded my expectation and we were very happy to walk around the city.
A must to do in Japan !
Location is walkable to Dotonbori, Namba, Glico signage area, several shopping opportunities and all amenities that a traveler would require are within walking distance. Close to subway system. The property has a coin laundry on the premises which allows a traveller to maximize their time efficiently. Hotel Cleaning staff were friendly and have instituted environmentally favorable cleaning practices.
Breakfast buffet offers several items Japanese and Western options.
This is my second stay at this hotel.
Everything was perfect. The price-quality ratio is excellent. The location is great, near Dotonbori but in a quiet place. From Kansai Airport you can take the train directly to Namba Station. The hotel is located 7 minutes away from Namba station by feet. The hotel is very clean. Gratitude to the hotel staff for their hospitality and friendly in the beautiful city Osaka. I wish the hotel prosperity and success. Definitely gonna book this hotel again in my next visit.
This hotel is in an incredible location in Osaka as far as ready access to trains, local shopping, convenience stores and restaurants. It's super affordable if you're staying there during the week. Checking in and out is easy even if you're not great with Japanese.
Compared to the other capsule hotel I've been to this one is nice because you get some personal space. A small area to lay out your things, eat and relax by yourself between activities.
This hotel is right in the center of everything. All major attractions are walking distance. The famous Dotonbori and Shinsaibashi station are 5-10 minutes away. Namba station is 20 minutes away. The Library cafe where breakfast is served really relaxing and open till midnight. All the staff are really helpful, especially Miss Sugimura who is kind cheerful and speaks English fluently. We will definitely stay here again when we visit Osaka.
A great family hotel. We stayed here towards the middle of our 3 week trip in Japan and it was nice to have such a big room with laundry facilities to freshen up and recharge. The play room is a great addition for families with little kids and everything was clean and tidy. The rooms were the biggest we had in a city hotel in Japan. The location is great to be near Namba station and makes it easy to get around the rest of Osaka.
The location is very convenient. Dotonbori is 5 minutes away by walking. Very short walk to train stations, JR Station, laundromat is across the street. 7/11, Lawson, family mart are minutes walking distance. Staff ( Hsueh) was working when we checked in and checked out. He speaks minimum english but was extremely helpful. Room is tights as many hotels in Japan but comfortable enough for 2 adults.
A decent basic hotel, comfortable, clean and a reasonable sized room (for a Japanese budget hotel) with a nice view of the river (not from all rooms) and a 15-20 min walk to Osaka station. Good services nearby, and Nakanoshima's impressive Festival Towers. If your main interest is the night-life of Dotonbori, it's a good 20 minute walk away although frankly, Osaka has far better things to offer.
The hotel was really clean and modern. It was a really nice room, perfect for our 5 night stay in Osaka. Loved that it was right next to Namba station and only a walkable distance from Dotonbori and Shinsaibashi. Even the facilities like the lounge room, coffee machine, vending machine and coin laundry was so helpful for us. Would definitely stay here again if we come back to Osaka!
This is a newly refurbished hotel that’s a couple of minutes from the east exit of Shin-Osaka station. Super clean and comfortable. Highly recommended for easy access to the Shinkansen or remote work (they have a work desk and plenty of outlets). Room is a bit bigger than the average Japanese business hotel. Will definitely stay again.
Since 2006, have been staying Toyoko inn hotel when i come to japan for my work. At this price, there nothing much to pick on....Seriously, i can say that the breakfast is pretty good and there is bus service to Osaka Umeda station. Travel to all tourist spot is accessible with public transport. My family love staying in Toyoko inn!
Location is just outside the action in Dotonbori and a few minutes walk away from Namba. Very convenient for us who are staying in Osaka only for a few days before flying out of Japan. Pretty good value as we booked last minute due to changes in travel plans. The hotel was also quite generous with personal care amenities
My favorite hotel chain. :) As with all Henn na Hotels I’ve stayed in so far, the Shinsaibashi one is great, too:
- Affordable
- Quite spacious, bright room
- Easy AI check-in process (human staff is available too if needed)
- Helpful and friendly staff
- In the heart of Osaka, near Dotonbori
It was a great location, right across the tracks from a Don Quixote with a Family Mart just downstairs. The rooms were small like most business hotels, but quite clean and newish. The price during the weekend I booked was very reasonable. Not too near the "dangerous" parts of Osaka.
The room was large and extremely clean. It felt like our home away from home while we were in Osaka. The bedding felt luxurious as did the amount of space especially when you consider the average size of a Japanese hotel room. The room was very clean, as well.
The location of Cross Hotel Osaka is superb. It is easily accessible to many shopping malls and eateries.
The rooms are very clean and cosy. Very nice rooms.
Breakfast has very good spread of Japanese food and some continental food.
Nice and clean hotel, away from busy side of Osaka station, and still close to public transport. Complementary food and drinks during certain time of the day. Tea rice porridge was a good food tasting experience of western Japan.
The location was fantastic, right near Dotonbori and perfect for exploring Osaka. The room was comfortable and clean, we enjoyed our breakfasts and the hotel staff were helpful and friendly.
The room is big enough for my family…there are so much space form luggage compare with other hotel in japan…whenever i come again in Osaka definitely will stay here again 😊
