I booked a single room, and it was clean and nicely decorated. The owners are very friendly and speak good English. I had originally said I would arrive at 6-7pm, but was delayed and arrived after 8pm. The owner kindly facilitated this for me but it is a small hotel so it is helpful to be accurate with your arrival time.

We stayed in Delux Family Room, which is large (50m2) and has a very spacious bathroom. There is a large bed for 2 and third person slept in the separate "room" on tatami rolled out bed. Everything was super nice and clean. We liked the location and ability to participate in meditation/morning service and fire ritual. There is a very elaborate kaiseki Japanese meal (all vegetarian) served in a private room on tatami. Monks speak very good english.

The temple is a very beautiful place overall. It features a lush and aesthetic Zen garden, a big dining room, an Onsen with (very) hot water and of course the hall for the evening and morninf ceremony. The rooms are simple, but very clean and authentic.
