Very pleased with their service. Arrived shortly after midday and was informed that the room is not ready (check-in time is the usual 3pm). We waited comfortably at the lounge and about 30 mins later, we were pleasantly surprised to be informed that our room was ready.
Breakfast spread was great with a mix of local and continental options. A bonus would always the sight of Mt Fuji as you eat.
The museum is definitely an interesting attraction.

Absolutely incredible staff from the moment of arrival to the moment of departure. In particular, Yuuta was so helpful, attentive, and downright elegant.
An EXCEPTIONAL breakfast and dinner were included with our room, prepared as Japanese interpretation of multi-course French cuisine. The view from the dining area was stunning. Absolutely wonderful.
I believe all rooms include a private outdoor onsen (hot spring bath) where you can soak for hours while enjoying nature.

Loved the suite with onsen. It's very clean and the service is impeccable although she is not so fluent in English.. Bed is very comfortable. Took half board with breakfast and dinner. Highly recommended!

Had the most incredible stay at Hakone Honbako. I have been to Hakone several times and this is the only hotel I have found very quiet and relaxing, and this resort exceeded my expectation especially in terms of food. The food was impeccable. They are explain Edo culture on the dishes, also provide explanations in Japanese and English. In the restaurant, everyone gathers around the counter and there is a unique sense of togetherness. There was a new discovery: experiencing Edo culture, which even the Japanese do not know.
One night is not enough, I will want to stay at this hotel for two or more nights to enjoy a good book and a meal.
Hope to be back again one day!

The View of Mt. Fuji from our room was Magnificent. This is our 2nd time of stay and Will definitely come back. Also, It’s near to Gotemba Premium outlet. Just 1.3km.
The Mt Fuji view was great. Newly opened hotel that is clean and the breakfast also had good variety. Room slightly small but clean and comfortable. Staff helpful. The location is good for those who drive and want to go Gotemba Premium Outlets but it was quite a walk from the bus stop or train station.

TRANSPORT: It was easy to take public transport to the hotel. From Gotemba Premium Outlet outlets
Option 1) Take free shuttle bus and alight at Tomei Gotemba and walk for 15 min.
Option 2) Take Tozan bus towards Gora. Check with driver and alight a few (4th or 5th) bus stop. Walk 2 minutes to the hotel.
The hotel offers a good breakfast and ramen for supper. There is yogurt drink available in the morning outside the onsen area and a variety of ice cream for the rest of the time. The location of the hotel was a 5 min drive from Gotemba premium outlet . There are ample car park lots for those who drive.
The room the amazing view of Mount Fuji, amazing onsen, 5-minutes walk to the bus stop where we board the free shuttle bus to Gotemba Premium Outlet and also take bus to Tokyo.
Close walk to Gotemba premium outlets (which is why we stayed here). Comfortable room. We were able to put our daughter in her portacot in the entrance way of the room which closed off to the main room! Great restaurant, staff & amenities. only 30 mins clear view of Mt Fuji from our mountain view room but it was worth it!
