Large open area, flooded with tourists like us. Climbing the clock tower is a must. Great views and interesting history. Off this piazza there are multitude of restaurants, bars and cafes. We enjoyed eating in the market.

Bologna could be very amazing.
Bologna could be very amazing. I am glad I visited it but was soooo disappointed to see a lot of graffiti. Graffiti does not belong on historical buildings or for that matter on any building, doors or any structure.

We usually stay in Piazza Maggiore but decided to opt for something slightly further out. What a find. Lovely hotel, really nice bar. Nice and close to the station if you are flying out you can be back at the airport in no time. Reasonably priced considering the type of hotel and the fact it was near to Christmas.
The location, just off Piazza Maggiore, could't be better. The staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed in both a normal room and one of the apartments they have in the same building (though with a different entrance) -- both were excellent. The breakfast is very good. All in all highly recommended.

The hotel felt older, (which we liked) but very clean and comfortable. Ceilings were probably 10ft high in the bedroom!
15 min walk through the porticos to Piazza Maggiore was quite acceptable.
Beautiful 2 level apartment in a quiet location. Loved the welcome treats in the kitchen. Walking distance to train station, attractions, restaurants and cafes, and shopping. We enjoyed strolling through the streets and exploring our surroundings. Worth exploring the piazzas and from Piazza Maggiore catch the train to San Luca for a view of Bologna.
Giulio was a great host and happy to answer any questions in advance and also during our stay. The apartment is in a great location on a street with lots of late night bars nearby (but it isn't noisy at night even though we stayed at New Year) and also only 5-10 mins walk from Piazza Maggiore. Lots of room in the apartment which has lots of character and high ceilings.
Location is perfect. The apartment is very spacious. All utilities we needed were there. Quiet and nice old building and neighborhood, just a street away from the rush in Piazza Maggiore. Great communication with administrators.
The hotel is beautiful, and our spacious room had a kettle and a coffee machine. The view over the city and the towers of Bologna made me happy every time I looked out the window!

The hostel is perfectly located - not more than a 15 minute walk from the main train station and just as long to the Piazza Maggiore from the hostel. Bus stops, restaurants, bars and shops nearby. Good facilities. The comfortable beds have curtains for more privacy (was a 6 bed dorm). A simple but delicious continental breakfast with homemade cakes and all you need in the morning. Everything is always very clean including the three beautiful bathrooms. Very friendly staff!
