The staff! Big Thanks to them all especially Diego who spoilt us. Everyone was helpful. The hotel decor is fresh and uplifting. Rooms were nice.
The shower is THE BEST shower I have ever used and designed so well it doesn’t make a mess.
We didn’t eat there but the restaurant looked nice. We did use the bar every evening which has a lovely indoor and outdoor seating area - Diego made sure we could watch football each night and allowed food to be delivered there.
We ventured to the rooftop once to find a basic gym and small hot tub. We didn’t use either but it was a nice little area.
It is located out of the old town but it was only a 30 mins walk and there is a bus stop outside. There is a lovely restaurant less than 5 min walk away and some local shops close if needed. One evening we took an Uber back which cost €19 but staff said we should stick to local cabs because they are cheaper.
I don’t have a single complaint from the hotel - they checked shortly after we settled into the room that we were ok and again on our last day. They made me feel that had there been an issue it would have been sorted out quickly.

The staff were excellent and the breakfast offering was delightful - both buffet and a la carte. Location was ideal, within walking distance to Piazzas and surrounding shopping & Osterias. The interiors were gorgeous, rooms were generous in size and features - the perfect blend of traditional and modern. I’ll definitely stay again next time I’m in Bologna.

Everything was great. The place looked and smelled amazing, the design was perfect and the building marvelous. Everything was really clean and our host David was the most polite person ever. I really enjoyed the home baked cakes they prepared each day with my coffee. Everything was literally perfect!
Porta San Mamolo has its own garden where you can enjoy an excellent free breakfast. It is in a quiet location 10 minutes' walk from Bologna's main square. Rooms are modern at Porta San Mamolo.
