Fabulous hotel. Full of olde worlde charm (the frescoes are amazing), yet the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was modern. All very clean and quiet. Staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast is tasty and plentiful. The magnifying mirror in the bathroom was useful too.
Secure parking at €18 per night N.B. You will need to drive through ZTL area but reception will take your license plate and give you an exemption.
I don’t think the hotel description does justice to this hotel - it’s fabulous!

Offering air-conditioned rooms, Hotel San Marco features a swimming pool. Lucca’s marvellous walls are 500 metres from the property and Porta San Jacopo are a short walk away. Parking is free.

Breakfast disappointing and coffee could be better
Hotel La Luna is located in the heart of historic Lucca, just a few steps from Piazza Anfiteatro. Staff have excellent local knowledge and can advise on the best places to eat.

Worth it. +/-€6 pp. no elevator, verry narrow stairs at the end. Planted trees on the top and gives a unique experience and great for photos. Not a lot of room to manoeuvre because of the trees. Go when it's not busy is recommend.
