The hotel is in a great location, just up from the big park house. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. Our studio had a ceiling fresco. The amenities were in good order. You are only minutes away from the dome.

Go to the archaeology museum just next to the Duomo to evade crowds and see a fantastic collection of Etruscan pottery, frescoes, and other historical objects that put Orvieto into perspective. Crowds are light and staff very helpful. It's not too large so not overwhelming.

Make plans to see it day and night. The facade is amazing and sparkles in the afternoon sun as well as in the evening lights. Book your stay at the hotel to the left of the Duomo with a direct view to the quiet square. The place is magical.

Orvieto will remain very dear to my heart.
Orvieto will remain very dear to my heart. Zero tourists, where weaving in and among the cobblestone streets is very romantic. Ducked into a local bar and had an apertif as we were the only ones there.
