We used the 'City Siteseeing Tours' to get around. The was a hop on and hop off service. Also would recommend the boat tour on the river Tony and Jerry give a brilliant comentary of the landmark and the history of the are.
We chose to eat in the Silver Penny and also The South Strand.
Both of which are part of the Wetherspoons Chain.

Excessively busy city with an over abundance of tourists.
Excessively busy city with an over abundance of tourists. Lots of shops and places to eat. Guinness tour was like being at Disney World on their busiest day, way too many people. Interesting, but tough to recommend this type of crowding.

We went to see Trinity College. We did that and more on the green hop on hop off bus which I thoroughly recommend.
The contemporary art gallery is worth a visit for the gardens and architecture alone. The sculptures are amazing. Artwork is dependent on your view of contemporary art.
The little Dublin museum is definitely worth a visit. Eaman gave a very enlightening and entertaining talk on the history of Ireland.

The centre of the city is really cosy and enjoyable. I like the atmosphere and the nice music they play every where. If you like music, then you definitely should go to Dublin. But you have to dress well because it is often cloudy and windy. It is not a sunny destination, that is a fact !

There was a lovely early autumnal atmosphere when I left the Concert Hall as it was a warm balmy night. Lots of people were spilling out of the venue and as I left St. Stephen's Green, laughter and song drifted from pubs and restaurants along Merrion Row.
I was wondering why all the food outlets and supermarkets were closed by half ten, as I had not had a chance to eat between work and going to the wonderful evening event. I had almost given up hope, when I saw this tiny kebab place on Baggot Street. What a great spot! Great chat too with the person behind the counter. It made my night and the food was delicious! Sometimes the unexpected is a joy. But then Dublin has always been like that. Just when you are totally fed up with the city, a few moments of pure magic happen.

We travelled for our 10 yr wedding anniversary and loved it!
We travelled for our 10 yr wedding anniversary and loved it! We travelled to theses towns/cities in order and stayed one night at each place. Dublin, Kinsale, Portmagee, Killarney, Kiltacky Boston, Galway, Dublin. It was alot of driving but wouldn't have done it any other way! Much nicer to see Ireland at our own pace and not be stuck with a tourist group! Learning to drive on other side of road was a little difficult at first but didn't take long to get the hang of it.
Beautiful hotel, very comfortable room and great location. Clontarf road is a 10 minute walk with lovely views and nice cafes. Bus to Dublin City centre is very accessible as well, great location. Myself and my husband stayed for our wedding anniversary, we ate at the Fahrenheit restaurant where staff guessed it was our anniversary. We had a beautiful meal and the service was above and beyond. I also needed a jump-start on my car and the staff were so unbelievably helpful, can’t thank them or commend them enough.
