A fine example of medieval Irish castle, though in ruins.

A fine example of medieval Irish castle, though in ruins. The chapel is especially worth a look. And the Sheela-na-gig is located on the corner of the outside wall of the old rectory, which is now the museum. You have to look over the retaining wall to one side of the rectory to see it.

Seems cliche to recommend a "tourist attraction", but this is truly an experience. Living history from a thousand years ago and imagining life at that time is truly fascinating. And seeing the Ireland countryside on the journey is a bonus.

We visited for a family wedding at the Cashel Palace hotel, so the location was perfect for us! It's literally a 1-2 minute walk away. We also loved that it was walking distance from the rock of Cashel, lots of lovely pubs, hairdressers and cafes. The beds were comfy, kitchen well equipped (even had an air fryer!) and there was plenty of towels in the utility. Hosts were responsive via booking.com, and our check in/check out was a smooth process. We'd definitely stay again!

The location was great, with a lovely view of the countryside and the Rock of Cashel. There is also a Tesco down the road where you can pick up a few bits. The accommodation itself, which is a modular home-type building was lovely, clean, and well-furnished with two en-suite bathrooms and a large smart TV in each room.

The staff on arrival were lovely and efficient. The Hotel is very very old but the standard of the decor in our rooms and in the public rooms was excellent. The evening meal in the restaurant was really good quality and reasonably priced. The restaurant was buzzing with atmosphere. The hotel is fantastically located for the high street of Cashel and a short walk to the Rock Of Cashel, that really shouldn't be missed.

The modern home is immaculate, charming and welcoming to all guest/ Patrick is an exceptional host and offers to make stay more than your expectations. The location is the closest hotel/B&B to the Rock of Cashel and a 5 minute walk to the St. John Baptist Cathedral-now a church with a Bishop’s Chair. Breakfast is delicious and hardy or as simple as you wish. It is a great place especially with host/owner like Patrick.

The home was bright, cheerful and well decorated. Bedroom was spacious and beds comfortable. There was an upstairs sitting room where you could enjoy the view of the beautiful garden while partaking in a glass of water, coffee or tea and a homemade snack. The breakfast was fantastic. A wonderful host the best welcome and B&B we had in Ireland. Parking on site. Close to restaurants and within walking distance of the Rock of Cashel.

Personally I thought that the Hotel was as close to a 'Perfect ' Hotel as possible. Clean and Comfortable, Central to everything in Cashel with even The Rock of Cashel only a short walk away. (The Staff were very Good, friendly and helpful, and the Food was excellent). Will hopefully return again soon! [' I'll be back!' ]. Cashel itself seems quite a small, 'Compact ', Clean and Tidy Town, And is certainly worth a visit.

Our visit to the Rock of Cashel was a definite highlight of our trip to Ireland. We got a wonderful guide who sounded and looked a lot like a young Maureen O'Hara who just told us story after story about the castle and its history. Wonderful!!
