À la carte breakfast! omg! Amazing! We stayed in Croatia for 10 days and stayed in 5 star hotels in Dubrovnik, Split and Hvar. We got buffet breakfast in the other hotels, so you cannot compare the breakfast here! No complaints. Staff were amazing and attentive. The location was so central, right at the port, so only 2 min walk from where the ferry dropped us off. Also hotel is next to bars and restaurants.

Great breakfast provided daily.
An open buffet of top standard, selection of cured meats, cheese, sliced salad vegetables, fresh fruit along with yoghurt and cereal section.
The hot egg station was also a treat.
Highlight would be the seating in the outside courtyard with view of the ocean.

Hvar is the largest city on the Croatian island of the same name within the Adriatic Sea. The wildly undulating coastline formed a natural harbour here, a fact which didn’t go unnoticed by the Venetians, who captured it as part of their empire. The Venetian Fortress sits atop a hill and 13th-century ramparts descend to the old town.
Another castle from Napoleonic times is on a different hill offering beautiful views over red roofs towards the offshore Pakleni islands sheltering the port. Ferries link Hvar to neighbouring Brač and Vis islands, Split and Ancona in Italy.
Given the size of the city, the amount of Hvar accommodation is staggering, and Booking.com offers everything from luxury hotels with pools to cheap guest houses and beachfront apartments. Although most beaches are rocky, their scenic setting and warm turquoise waters are still a draw.
At the heart of the city is the largest square in Dalmatia. Restaurants and bars spill out onto its cobbles, ending at St Stephen’s Cathedral with its see-through belltower. Around the same time the cathedral was going up, one of Europe’s oldest theatres was constructed in the waterfront Arsenal. The Loggia is the only remain of the Governor’s Palace, and the Hvar Heritage Museum helps to put all this in context.

Hike to Hvar fortress with the stunning view on the bay and water around sunset is totally worth it. I loved the Hvar theater and the clock tower as well. Really walkable city and easy to hop on water taxis to go to neighboring islands.
I would avoid the island hopping tours to the Blue cave. Overpriced and waste of time.
I loved eating at Konoba Menego; really rustic restaurant interior, good food, and super friendly waitstaff. Restaurant Macondo is also good for food.

Beautiful old town.
Beautiful old town. Spectacular view of many surrounded island from the Napoleon trail. The city provided plenty of seating benches throughout the city and rural. I visited other towns in this island that have the same relaxing standards. Thanks to the Croatia government.
However, October was not a good month to get access to island tours and most restaurants. I was told that April to September is when the businesses open fully.

I only went to the old town, arriving by ferry in the evening. Absolutely beautiful but even in October it was way, way over touristed. I decided to stop contributing to the problem myself by changing my plans and leaving early the next morning.

Hvar is incredibly charming and I wish we could have stayed a few more days. It's a high energy environment with young and older tourists alike, gorgeous historic spots like the Fort and really great shopping (dresses, jewelry, pretty handbags on trend all reasonably priced from a Boston perspective).

Hvar is for you if you love being near the water and sitting in the sunshine. Things i wish I’d taken, more cash, many places operate on a cash only basis and they cash machines charge up to €10 to withdraw from. The cheapest bakeries which are also delicious are near the bus station. Bring insect repellent and insect bite treatments and also bring your own sunscreen as it is incredibly expensive to purchase it on the island.
Take shoes you can comfortably walk up and down stairs in and on cobbled streets.
Best places to east for me were Kantun, Coffee snob, sweet treats bakery and Fig Hvar.
Very clean apartment, excellent view from the two balconies, very kind and professional host, modern bathroom, comfy bed and good location.
It takes about 5 minutes to walk down to the centre, and 10 minutes walking back. Lots of stairs. We got a lot of recommandations for what to see and experience in Hvar, and especially what would be best each day dependent on the weather and wind direction.
The photos are true to the apartment, and it was as we pictured it. We can wholeheartedly recommend this apartment and host.
One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in! The location couldn’t be more perfect. You’re within short walking distance to the port and the centre of Hvar town, yet still in a quiet and relaxing area. The view of the church and crystal blue waters are such a treat to wake up to every morning. The decor is very tasteful! We really enjoyed the selection at breakfast too. The staff are very friendly and can’t do enough for you!
everything was great, but I must highlight the awesomeness of the staff. everyone was simply amazing, from the hostess to the cleaning team to the drivers, they were wonderful. The hotel is in a kind of private beach, not in the center of Hvar, but they have a shuttle to go to the center. breakfast was very good and the beds comfortable, but again, the staff made our stay much better than our expectations.
-Great location, few mins walk from the Ferry port. Like most of Hvar, it is up some steps, if you inform the hotel before hand they will be happy to help move luggage to the room.
-Breakfast in the hotel was lovely
-Staff were all very friendly and welcoming
-Air con in the room worked great
-Shower and bathroom were good.
The breakfast was amazing, with all local and fresh food.
The view of the room and the way all the hotel has been refusrbished is lovely. Very good advices from reception about what to see and do in the neighborhood.
And what to say about the price !!! Just a perfect stay in Hvar. Thank you so much.
It was an amazing boutique hotel with only 15 rooms. Locations was perfect, overlooking the sea, close to the port, walking distance to all city sites like cathedral, oldest theatre in Europe, bars, restaurants it was close to walk up to the fortress. Best decision made and the best front desk team.
Natalya and her sister and all f the staff were great. The price for their rooms is much lower than it should be. Truly a gem that was the best hotel my wife and I stayed at during our 5 plus weeks in Italy and Croatia. We couldn’t give higher praise for Hotel Nora Hvar.
Beautiful courtyard with pool and lounge chairs. Excellent location in Hvar. We had room 1, with kitchen. Very roomy with 5 windows that opened wide. Superb view if the fortress and town. Lovely host. Super clean, quiet place just steps from the center
The hotel was heaven on earth. The views were magnificent. The breakfast was wonderful so much choice. The staff were lovely. The walk into Hvar along the coast lovely so you could take advantage of all Hvar had to offer at night. We loved our stay
The owner Johnny & his family were so welcoming & made every effort to help us providing us with beach towels.
If you are attending a function in Amfora Hotel then these apartments are so so close!
Wow! We absolutely loved our stay, the hotel was beautiful and the location was perfect. The staff were so lovely and welcoming, if we ever return to hvar we will stay at amfora again!
The Villa is luxury as its name, the host is extremely hospitality and location is just near by the city centre. I would strony recommend this hotel if you like yo visit Hvar.
Modern hotel, gorgeous pool area with pool bar, walking distance to the main area of restaurants and bars. No lift which might make it difficult for some. Would recommend!
Fantastic location approx 5 mins walk along promenade to Hvar town. Amazing views from property. Hotel was very clean and staff very helpful. Pool area is amazing.
Best location in town, hotel super clean, pool and deck bar spectacular. Staff exceptionally nice. Baggage service to ferry great. Breakfast very good.
