This is a fascinating place with a lot of history and development - get a guide or join a walking tour. The guides are very good and you will get a much better appreciation of what you are looking at as there are so many layers to this city.

Amazing area to stay in when you travel here, full of history and national landmarks. The lights and sculptures are very entrancing at night. Very safe to walk around this area day or night. Lots of food options. The food is amazing. The beaches outside of the city are very clean and excellent swimming conditions. Rent a bike and ask where to go, they will direct you to a park that has the most amazing natural beaches in the area. I loved Croatia.

Amazing to have a walking tour of Split and the Diocletian's Palace on our first day. It gave us a real understanding of the place. We spoke to a couple of guides and chose Zdenko Cvijetic an official city tour guide who grew up in Split. tel: +385977119791
He was amazing, really knowledgeable and entertaining. Spoke perfect English and the tour was well paced. Lot's of great stories about this wonderful city!

Diocletian's palace is over rated, while it is beautiful but I was shocked and horrified to see the locals celebrate a local wedding that made a mess with fireworks and streamers in a UNESCO site. Unheard of but seems to be due corrupt people in power and wealthy locals flaunting the rules. The place is very crowded with restaurants all over this UNESCO site tourist leaving wrappers and garbage in corners. Very sad and disgraceful with locals allowing food to be served and eaten in a world heritage site.

Diocletian's Palace is the main reason to visit Split. This is not a museum, although it contains several museums. The palace is a living piece of history that continues to evolve and to be used by residents and visitors alike. It is great to experience an historic place that is so energized day and night. We explored the historic elements, experienced impromptu concerts and a wedding, and we ate, shopped, enjoyed coffee, wine, and cocktails, and relaxed within its walls. I could spend many more days there and I would learn even more.

Perfect location in the Old Town, Right next to Diocletian’s palace, Numerous bars, restaurants, cafes, bakeries, Gelaterias at your doorstep. The accomodation is well appointed and very clean, we also had access to rooftop terrace which gave us 360 degree views of Split, the sea and Old Town. The hosts are very friendly and helpful, they were always instantly available if we had questions or needed help with something. Highly recommend this stay for a family or couple.
The location was fantastic- right in the centre of Diocletian’s palace. One of the walls of the room was made of exposed Roman brick. The delicious breakfast was served in a mediaeval courtyard and the staff were all very kind and helpful.
Fantastic location, 5 mins to Diocletian’s palace. Many bars & restaurants within 1-2 mins. Easy to find, 15 min walk from the bus station. Felipe was happy to store my luggage before check in- but also let me in early as the room was ready. Wonderful breakfast on deck overlooking a slice of harbour. Marjan Hill steps up to nature just a few metres away, great for sundowners or sunrise.
Amazing value for money! Right in the heart of Diocletian’s Palace, surrounded by excellent restaurants. At first we thought it might be noisy at night…. But when we closed the windows and stutters the sound of the busy street below completely disappeared. We would definitely stay there again. Communication via Booking.com messages was excellent

This was such a comfortable apartment and location could not be beaten! We loved it! Lots of space, comfy bed and amazing view out the window to the Peristil in Diocletian’s Palace. Breakfast at a (very) nearby hotel was lovely.
Excellent location, main promenade, beach, restaurants, bars and Diocletian’s Palace are all within 10 minute walk. Apartment is modern and clean with everything you need such as air conditioning, washing machine and tumble dryer. We opted for self check in and our host was very attentive, available via What’s app for any questions and gave great recommendations. We highly recommend this apartment for the location and luxurious feel. We felt it was great value for money and we really enjoyed our stay in Split. Thank you!
A wonderful hotel. The building and our room were lovely. Exceptionally comfortable, spotlessly clean and well equipped. The breakfast was great with almost too much choice. The location at the heart of Diocletian’s Palace meant we could wander round the sites at our ease. But the best of the experience was the staff who could not have been nicer or more helpful taking a genuine interest in our well being. We hope to stay again and are encouraging other family members to visit.

Directions to property and key collection was excellent. Clear instructions on how to use utilities also. Comfortable bed and spacious apartment.
