First and foremost, the staff was absolutely wonderful. I felt welcome the entire time I was there. Especially the small things —replacing my empty cappuccino with a fresh one at breakfast without me having to ask— struck me as entirely kind and thoughtful. The room was clean, towels were replaced every day. The parking lot was secure and easily accessible. Obviously the location was great, too — right in the heart of the harbor. Also, do try the food. Dinner was exceptional every time! Have I mentioned how great the staff is?

This was our first visit to Chania and it was amazing. It exceeded our expectation. The hotel is perfectly situated along the port and close to all amenities. The staff were wonderful and in particular Eva, the manager/host who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. I would highly recommend this hotel if your thinking of visiting Chania.

The hotel was clean & tidy.
The bed was comfy & the bedding was clean.
We only had breakfast in the hotel, it was plenty of choice in both hot & cold food in both sweet & savoury dishes. There was also plenty of hot & cold drinks.
We didn’t eat in the restaurant but the food looked really good & the restaurant was always busy.

Situated on the west part of Crete, the city of Chania is the second largest in this beautiful Greek island. Featuring rich history, breathtaking architecture and pristine beaches, Chania will take you to a fascinating journey through time.
Get your camera and wander around the narrow alleys of the old town or walk on the romantic promenade area of the old harbour with the iconic lighthouse. Set on a small hill, the central part of the town is called Kastelli and is populated since the Neolithic period.
A crossroads of civilisations, the city of Chania offers a harmonic combination of Venetian, Turkish and traditional Greek architecture. Do not miss the Greek Orthodox Cathedral Church of Chania, the Mosque of the Janissaries and the Venetian Fortification Walls.

Chania is a beautiful and picturesque town. It's worth visiting and exploring all the back streets and watching the sunset over the water. It's a Venetian-style town and the Cretans have done an excellent job of restoring the old buildings. Well done.

The Old Town was lovely to wander around and have a meal.
The Old Town was lovely to wander around and have a meal. We liked Golden Beach which was nearby, with pretty good facilities and lovely clear sea. Driving around and parking was not for the faint hearted, but it was easy to travel in by taxi in the evening.

We like Golden Beach (Chrissi Akti), Agii Apostoli beach, Old venetian harbour (our favourite), Iguana beach, Yannis beach, Lake Kournas.
We like Botanical gardens of Crete.
Nea chora, a mediocre beach, close to the city , 10-15min. Water at a very good temperature.
It's a shame it's not very clean. There are cigarette butts and pieces of glass. The shore, and not just the shore, is full of stones. It's suitable for a sunset or sunrise, but not amazing.
We eat gyros at the taverns near the harbour, very good. On other locations in the city, very poor gyros.
We like the food from Kouzina Epe, great food, large portions, amazing desert(on the house ), plus a shot of raqia local drink), great service. 🐈
It is easy to getting around Chania, you can have schedules from the central bus stations, to see the times of the buses and the locations.

A fantastic place of historic significance with several sightseeings. The locals are very welcoming and there are great locations to eat and drink while enjoying a great view. There are several famous beaches in the area which require transportation but you can also enjoy the sea even inside the town. The Old Town is fantastic place to do shopping, walking, eating and enjoy either with friends or enjoy solo.

Chania town is a lovely old town with comforting and welcoming ambiance with lovely locals. Full of traditional Cretan restaurants. I'd recommend looking for the ones with live music. Just search for "taverna with music" on Google Maps. The walkable Nea Chora beach is highly recommended. There are many offers of cruises at the port of Chania.
A note about "bougatsa" (Greek Custard Pie) that many recommend, citing a famous shop. Sorry, I feel it is too overrated. If you don't have much time you can skip that.
Parking: Use the free parking at "Kladisos Regional Parking" that is well outside the city. It is safe and has a free shuttle service to and from the old town every 20 minutes. Very recommended.

Chania is a great town, very bustly but not a party town.
Chania is a great town, very bustly but not a party town. It has developed a lot since our last visit about 8 years ago with lots of trendy upmarket restaurants and bars now but there are still a lot of cheap giros places for a cheaper meal - Giros Chania on the harbour front was our favourite Lots of nice shops to look around.
Neo Chora beach is a lovely beach area which again has been developed since our last visit.
Weekly market, open air cinema, football shop/museum, open top bus tour.
This was the second time we'd stayed at the Nefeli after flying into the airport and before setting off for the south of Crete. It's a really nicely kept hotel with great rooms in a perfect position for stopovers. The main bus station is right across the road, the harbour is a few minutes walk away, and the shops and restaurants are all around. We had wonderful top floor rooms with large balconies this time and everything was so perfect that we wished we could stay a week or more.
The location of the apartment in old town is really convenient. Everything was in walking distance and we loved how quiet it was in the mornings. Its a nice touch to have the table outside the front door so you can sit with a drink and do some people watching :) MUST visit the Maritime Museum of Crete which is 2min away. I have never seen so many ship models in one place, exciting find. Restaurant tip: TAMAM - we ate there 3 times - very nice food.
This property is incredible! Book it immediately! We stayed for 5 days while in Crete. The whole hotel is modern, new and spotlessly clean. The service is impeccable. Crisoula gave us the most amazing recommendations and made all our bookings for us. This hotel experience really made our entire stay at Chania unforgettable. The breakfast and views from the pool were some of the best my eyes have ever witnessed.
We have booked the nicest spa deluxe room very comfortable for the 4 of us (2 children) and superbe sea view on the last floor.
Very nice welcome and great suggestions from the receptionist on areas to visit in crete . She also managed to book one nice evening dîner for us in a nice place . We did appreciated the welcome cocktail in the bar pool at the hotel.
Very close to the old town 15 min walk.
Location amazing next road over to bus station going all over Crete … near the town yet a quiet street . Staff were helpful and offered great recommendations they were trained in customer service to the highest standard . Breakfast lovely and fresh . Hotel brand new and everything was clean and working ! Not recommended from people with mobility issues as there are steps in to the property .
