After an emergency visit and stay to the hospital with my wife I stayed here for 5 nights, the staff were fantastic and were super helpful and couldn't do enough for me. Even made my wife some takeaway lunches as she didn't enjoy the hospital food, I cannot recommend this hotel enough.

I love Chania and try to come every year. I find the Greeks so friendly and helpful. I love walking round the harbour and do the glass bottom boat trip every time. So much so that I sit by it and when people are not sure about it I always recommend it. To date I have recommended it to 12 people who all went and booked it. All the eateries were good so I can’t choose one. Thankyou Chania. I’ll be back next year.Helen Bamber

Chania is one of our favorite places to visit.
Chania is one of our favorite places to visit. The Venetian Harbor and the closeness to many other places within driving distance like Elafonisi Beach and the mountain villages with wineries etc are amazing. I was a bit put off by the amount of graffiti in Chania and other cities right now as the anarchists seem to be numerous. Vandalizing buildings and historic sites to me is unforgivable. The numerous tavernas, shops, bars and bustling nightlife is very attractive on the harbor.

Nice harbour and Old town.
Nice harbour and Old town. Naval museum and maritime museum was worth a visit.
Not much else to see there.
Too expensive to eat in the restaurants compared to Nea Chora beach where it was less expensive.
Do NOT do "Alexandros" " Erofili" glass bottom boat trips. The glass bottom is only about 4ft by 5ft and so not everyone can see the sea at the same time. Couldn't hear the commentary as the noise of the boat engine drown out the female speaking (not using a microphone) The fruit offered was OK but the drinks were either raki or orangeade. Also the female mixed some cornflour with water and was giving lumps of the mixture to the tourists on the boat to feed to the fish.

Chania Town has a lot to offer; places of interest, history, architecture and of course great food! We eat mainly local cuisine wherever we go but somewhere in the middle of our stay, I crave pizza! We found a cute Italian Restaurant along the busy harbour - Il Pedrino. We ate fish most other days - ACHILLEAS restaurant in Nea Chora is worth a visit. A first for us this year was a trip to a Cretan vineyard. Dourakis Winery is tucked into a beautiful quaint village called Alikampos, just 30 minutes drive from Chania Town.

Chania is so beautiful.
Chania is so beautiful. Narrow streets with shops and traditional places. It is a romantic city with the old town and port making the scenery breathtaking. A lot of options of restaurants, great traditional food. The people are very hospitable and kind. I will definitely visit again.

Very picturesque (old harbour and streets off) Kept very clean with frequent rubbish collections. No itinerant street vendors. Restaurants mainly traditional greek + italian no persistent "hustling" to partake. Varied selection of shops from tourist to top end. Traffic free around harbour. Boat trips and horse and carriage tours from harbour side. Several museums to visit nearby all walkable, though the new archeological museum is a good hike along the coast. Note that the famous covered market is not functional at the time of writing (no roof) and whist it is a impressive building, not much is happening construction wise.
Staying at The Tanneries was the best way to end our stay in Greece. The facility is gorgeous and the view of the water from our room was stunning. The beds were incredibly comfortable and I loved that we had both a spa tub and a steam shower in our room. The staff went above and beyond during our stay -- setting up an incredible boat trip to small beaches on the south side of the island, packing breakfasts for us when we had to leave before the dining room opened -- and we loved chatting with Sylvia about her favorite parts of Crete!
From the moment you step into the hotel, the staff put you at ease. Elia and Elina were absolutely wonderful hosts - welcoming, accommodating and went above and beyond. Elia looked after us in the hotel and gave great tips on restaurants. Elina served an amazing breakfast and was so accommodating to whatever we felt like. The owner of the hotel would do well to make sure both are paid well. The room was clean and classy and the location was great. Best hotel of our stay in Crete.
Perfect location in centre of old town but just off the busier streets. Loved the quirky decor and the jacuzzi style bathtub in the room (that was the deciding factor for my booking after a week hiking across Crete!). Complimentary raki, more than I could get through on my own 😅. Tea and coffee and some sweets in the room and a magnificent large breakfast, and still one of the cheapest available rooms! I'll definitely be recommending this place (I already have 😁)
The location looks out at the old harbour and is in the middle of old town. It’s perfect in every way.
The rooms are gorgeous, the beds huge and comfortable and the views are fantastic.
Eva goes above and beyond every second to make your stay amazing. She must have called every rental car company I’m Crete for us. She also arranged a friend to be a private driver. Who was the nicest man ever and took us on the best journey around Crete.
Amazing appartment close to the old town and the harbour, perfect for discovering western Crete. Everything except the beach is in a short walking distance and on saturdays there is a buzzing market right below the appartment. We especially loved the large balcony with a nice view. The owner was easily contactable on WhatsApp for advice and very friendly, it's a shame meeting him didn't work out. Looking forward to returning here! :)
Everything. The place, staff, location of the apartment. The beds were amazing. We could choose the type of pillow. The staff was very nice to us. They helped us with probably everything. We wanted to get on the other side of island and the ladies from the hotel ordered us an car with super price and even they manage that the car came to us to the hotel. Really we couldn´t find a better place to stay in Crete.
What we loved about the room is the cleanliness, the host and as well the staff are friendly and very helpful in need.
The hotel is new and it has everything you need and it is located in the best possible place of Chania where you can find everything you need in a walking distance.
It’s one of the best places we’ve stayed in Crete/Chania
We thank Spiros for hosting us and making our stay comfortable.
We really had a great time at the Royal Sun and were sad to leave. We loved the view during the fantastic breakfast (best breakfast during our whole Crete vacation) and the pool time. We also enjoyed the shuttle service into the town. The staff was very friendly and helped whenever we had a question or request. We definitely recommend the hotel and will stay there next time when in Crete.
A stunning and brand new boutique suite hotel located right in the heart of the old town. Close to the harbour, restaurants and adorable shops, I only wish we had stayed here for longer! The rooms have little balconies where you can sit and enjoy the view over the town, the bed was super comfortable (the best bed we slept in in all of crete) and the staff were so helpful and lovely
It was a dream! The hosts were helpful and so sweet. I was picked up from the bus station and given great advice. The boutique hotel is gorgeous! The best honestly felt like I was in a fairy tale. I would go back in a heartbeat! The location is fantastic, you’re in the heart of the old town. I will be back for sure☺️. Thank you to the hotel owners who were so sweet and attentive.
Perfect location in Old Town. Parking nearby. The view from our room was spectacular (Room 1). We had a cute little terrace where we could sit and have our morning coffee. The staff were incredibly accommodating and friendly. Breakfast was amazing. One of the best places we have stayed. 500 yr old building but restored beautifully with so much charm.
The hosts! The Klinakis Hotel is run by the Klinakis family and we felt every bit of the Creten hospitality. Rafaela Klinaki, our host, received us upon our arrival, coordinated everything from taxi pick up to and from the airport, car rental, to COVID Testing for our return. Teodoro received us each morning with a phenomenal breakfast experience 😋❤!
Ideal location 10 mins walk to the old town. Parking on site is ideal in a town with limited areas to park. Small hotel recently refurbished with modern stylish fully equipped rooms. Like a home from home.
If I ever return to Crete I would certainly stay here again, really hit the sweet spot with this hotel/apartments
Everything perfect. Most comfortable bed during our trip in Crete. Location is so good in old town and arriving by car, very easy to get to the hotel with luggage as the parking is close by. Very warm welcome in the reception! Thank you so much!
Lovely boutique hotel in fantastic location. Right beside old town and ten minute walk from a beautiful little beach. Book the 3rd floor room with large private terrace - it’s amazing. Staff very friendly and helpful, especially Olga.
Value for money hotel.Location is second to none- bang on the port with view to die for. Attentive and polite service and breakfast which deserves a chapter of its own.Our best hotel experience in the whole of crete for sure.
Cutest historic boutique hotel. Unreal location in Old town Chania. My husband and I extend our stay with them by two nights because we loved it so much. Very clean, amazing breakfast. Absolutely blissful.
Beautiful hotel and GREAT location! Staff was absolutely wonderful, we will definitely stay here again when we return to Crete. Highly, highly recommend!
