Four separate rooms booked for work colleagues. All a little quirky as expected with the age of the property. Great bar area. Breakfast plentiful. Could have eaten there at night but chose to use one of the other restaurants in the area. Right opposite the entrance to Sumpter Yard and the St Albans Cathedral. Car parking on site.
Loved the antiquity of the building. We chose this hotel as it was very convenient for our grandson’s graduation at St Albans Cathedral. On site car park was much appreciated.
Our room was exceptional, with settee, coffee table, TV, fridge and en suite. The bed was very comfortable and we would definitely stay again. Parking was a big plus for our stay.
The location was perfect as we were attending our daughter's graduation at St Albans Cathedral and it was also walking distance to a restaurant nearby to celebrate.
Located opposite St Albans Cathedral, this ancient interesting coaching inn was a delight and very convenient for sightseeing, shopping etc. Given its age there are obviously sloping floors and ceilings, with narrow stair case etc but our room was very comfortable and well-equipped. We did not dine there in the evening but the breakfast was exceptionally good - freshly cooked with obvious care - the best we have had for a long time in a hotel.
Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Room was ready early so we could freshen up as soon as we arrived.
