Firstly we were greeted by a lovely lady who gave advice on spots to see and places to go. We arrived early morning before check in but were able to leave our luggage in a secure room while we were exploring the city. The decor and room were spectacular, clean and tidy and even for a junior suite was exceptionally spacious and light. Reception staff were amazing and helpful. I did mention that it was a surprise birthday trip for my partner, and that it was his first time in Edinburgh, and they kindly left a card and gift on arrival which was a thoughtful touch. We both loved our weekend stay and if we come to Edinburgh again this will be the first place I will look for. Thank you all so much it was all very much appreciated
Situated in Edinburgh's West End, The Bonham Hotel is a Victorian town house. Majority of the bedrooms have a city view.

Smooth checkin. Large room with amazing views across the city. Room has a good coffee machine AND a kettle! DAB radio was playing Classic FM when I walked in, and it was just so calm and lovely. Bed large and comfortable. Huge windows but curtains block out all light at night, so could sleep very well. USB and normal sockets right next to the bed, thank goodness. Loved the hotel itself, in town house, could pretend it was "my house" when going down the lovely staircases. Breakfast fabulous. Always easy to get a taxi, or walk to where I wanted to go.
The glamorous Rutland Hotel has stylish rooms, a luxurious late-lounge, and a unique restaurant with a glass wine cellar.

Most of all the front desk staff but also the location (at the bottom of Princes Street and right in New Town). There were a few items missing from my room but they were immediately provided when requested. This hotel is a bit pricey but well worth the cost and convenience. It has been recently redecorated which makes it even more comfortable, although I found the bed a bit hard.
Located on Princes Street, The Balmoral has a 4 AA Rosette restaurant, a pool and a gym. Waverley Station and Edinburgh's main shopping area are within 5 minutes' walk.
Located in the centre of Edinburgh, just a few minutes’ walk from the Royal Mile and 650 yards of The Real Mary King's Close, Market Street forms part of Edinburgh’s historic skyline.

Breakfast disappointing. Poor choice of bread, granary&sourdough. Scotch rolls would be good.. No local cooked items. Haggis, Lorna sausage, Arbroath smokies, for example.
