Lovely reception when we were delayed in traffic and arrived 2 hours later than anticipated. Resturant open late was perfect for us and delicious food. Wonderful facilities for the dog, and to be able to take him while we ate was lovely. Great walks on the doorstep.

A really nice cafe at the nearby colliery, on the Speech House road.
Lots of scenic places to visit in a short distance. Loved Symonds Yat Rock ( Symonds Yat itself very difficult to park in & very few places to eat).

I was attending a funeral, but Coleford was very lovely and quaint. Tesco express just up from the hotel and free parking just by the Italian which was ideal. Very close to the Golf Club where the wake was and a lovely area.

Very mixes businesses. Cafe was excellent. .
Very mixes businesses. Cafe was excellent. . Hotel Globe Inn, for dinner had far from friendly staff who did not volunteer obvious information and the staff member rude. It was like we were intruding on the locals. On another evening at a different hotel we were abruptly told, "kitchen is closed". It was a Wednesday. We had walked a mile to get to this pub which was full of locals drinking. We wearily walked away toward another pub but one of the gentlemen who had witnessed what happened pulled up beside us and gave us a lift to the one that was serving meals.*

Sadly, the shops were shut and some permanently closed.
Sadly, the shops were shut and some permanently closed. I should imagine it was a thriving town once. Couldn't see much in the way of entertainment but close to other places of interest. Taxi service although they all offered different prices to the same place?
Welcome pack was an added bonus and we made good use of the tea and hot chocolate. Having milk and biscuits to hand meant we could rest before going out to buy provisions. The location was excellent being in the centre of Coleford meant plenty of choice for eating out or take away. Dishwasher was a bonus so no washing up. Loved the decor very retro 60/70s theme.
Bed was warm and comfy and plenty of coat hangers.
Tony was helpful.,warm and friendly.
Overall an excellent place to stay.
We stayed overnight at the hotel after a wedding. The staff were really accommodating and let us check in before we went to the wedding. Room great and breakfast delicious
