We have many happy memories of several visits to Hereford...
We have many happy memories of several visits to Hereford and always look forward to return visits. The shopping areas are quite good though like many other areas of the country, many have disappeared due to progress or economic reasons. The Cathedral is well worth a visit and the surrounding countryside areas are very scenic especially the Black & White village trail. We have always found the local Hereford people to be friendly.

The main atractions we visited were the Cathederal (including the interesting display of the Mappa Mundi. and the cider museum which had very pleasant staff and a good walk through their displays. (and a tasting session). Shopping was pretty much the same as any large town. We found a nice coffee shop !
It was difficult to drive round (but that might have been us). There may have been a Tourist Information but we didn't find it.
We self-catered during our stay. We would have eaten out more but for the transport difficulties.

A great City with wonderful Norman Cathedral.
A great City with wonderful Norman Cathedral. Very large City Centre for size of the town. And the wonderful River Wye flows through past Cathedral. Mappa Mundi in Cathedral worth the visit on its own!!

Hereford is an interesting town, but they hate motorists.
Hereford is an interesting town, but they hate motorists. If you are driving alone, you will have insufficient capacity to see and follow all the numerous traffic signs. There are one-way streets everywhere. I tried to park to visit the cathedral, but could not find the car park I wanted, and ended up driving the wrong way down a one-way street. I would not be at all surprised to find a fine in the post for having infringed something or another.
Because of the above, I cut my trip short.
Very comfortable hotel. We stayed in one of the townhouse rooms, well appointed, very quiet.
The hotel has an excellent restaurant where we breakfasted very well.
The hotel is well located to walk to all the main attractions in Hereford city centre.
The hotel staff clearly take pride in the family-run business and made us feel very welcome.
The room was spacious with high ceilings, excellent radiator heating, clean. The bed was large and comfortable. The wi/fi was free and easy to access. Lots of parking space. The hotel is very quiet at night. There is a bar and bar food in evening if required. Only ten minutes deive from Hereford with a bus service if required.
Honestly one of the best hotels to stay in. Travel alone for work and feel safe, get a great nights sleep and a warm welcome. Breakfast is fantastic. Love the little touches such as a teapot in the room. Cannot fault this place and will always stay here if I'm in Hereford. Really is homely and comfortable.
It was a unique beautiful hotel. Very quiet location but only a short distance from Hereford.
The room was stunning. Huge and had nice little touches like proper sized mugs and a coffee machine.
The staff were super friendly and very accommodating especially as I was a little early to check in.
The hotel was quirky, it also had a restaurant and bar you could go too.The room we had, had everything from hair dryer, iron and ironing board also little bottles of smellies. It was close to Hereford Cathedral, also near bars, shops and restaurants.
