Hotel is superbly situated in the centre of the city. I stayed in the annex in a small double room which was fine for me (or couple on a short stay). Lovely breakfast, beside castle moat. Very helpful and friendly staff, just needed a sharper attention to detail at breakfast (should come over time).
Pilgrim Country House Hotel and Restaurant is set in 4 acres of rolling parkland with stunning views and an excellent restaurant serving local Herefordshire produce.

The position of the property is great. 10 minutes by car and 30 mins walk into central Hereford. It's a very quiet location , albeit close to a main road. Car parking facilities are great. Little parcel of breakfast goodies in the morning. Registering, booking in and room access was effortless, and Doreen was very helpful . Thank you

Hereford is a charming and compact town on the scenic River Wye, perfect for a short break of a few days. It boasts an impressive cathedral, a fascinating history museum in the form of the Black and White House (an original 17th century home still standing in the town square!) and an excellent cider museum. It's easy to get to via train (3 hours from London) and pleasant to walk around, so makes a great trip without a car. Only tricky part was finding anywhere that serves hot food after 6pm!

Hereford is a lovely city, very compact, many useful shops, beautiful cathedral, very very well worth visiting. Plenty of cafes and food places to eat. It is very easy to get to. We used the trains and buses to get to places such as Great Malvern with the famous lamps (Narnia, fabulous for stunning scenery) Ross on Wye (charming), Ludlow (interesting, beautiful buildings), Leominster (many antique shops). There is a Zipper bus which takes you around the town and to the train station for nothing (yes free!) People are so friendly (they say “Good morning” to you) not like London!

Hereford is a stunning county to visit.
Hereford is a stunning county to visit. Amazing cathedral and city to visit, pedestrians only in city. Lots of cafes and places to eat. River Wye is stunning and Symmonds Yat worth a visit. Maybe you will see a Peregrin Falcon there. Lots to do. The local theatre The Courtyard always has something on. There is a fabulous Cinema as well.

So much history and wonderful, old buildings in quite a small, easily walkable area. The Black and White House and the Catholic church, were particularly interesting. The Mappa Mundi and Cathedral are obviously worth a visit.
The lack of cars in some streets was great. Far more relaxing without them.
Good choice of eateries (e.g. Ponte Vecchio, The Bookshop, All Saints cafe).
The outdoor market stalls were a delight but the indoor market needs a upgrade. Lots of potential.
There is also a nearby walk in the countryside along the river bank, via Victoria Bridge then back along the other side to the west.

Hereford is a pretty town, we went for the Cathedral and Map a Mundi. I think it would suit people who like to go for a bit of a shop and the town centre looked nice when we were walking through, little lanes, little cafes, little independent shops as well as some of the majors.
I enjoyed the Cathedral and the Black & White House Museum, the latter would also be good for children.
Close to lovely countryside and striking distance from Hay On Wye and other pretty towns to visit so a good hub place to be based.
Really fantastic guest house within easy walking distance of the town centre in Hereford. Myself and a friend booked two nights for a wedding and were very pleased with the facilities including breakfast which was freshly made downstairs in a small dining/breakfast room. Despite being next to the road, it wasn't too loud and we had a very spacious room for two. Another great feature was that despite sharing a bathroom on the floor, there were plenty of supplies, and fresh shower mats provided for guests in the shared facilities.
What a beautiful, atmospheric hotel. We really loved the many original features of the decor and ambience. The reminders of yesteryear and how elegant it would have been were just lovely. Very tastefully decorated and preserved. Really loved the 'old fashioned' bathroom fittings and sash windows. Will definitely stay again, purely because of its beauty. Perfect location for our needs and very quiet in our room 204. Unfortunately we did not sample breakfast, but will do next time if we get the chance
Everything!
Accommodation clean with everything we needed.
We had an excellent meal in the restaurant and they had a good variety of drinks. Friendly staff and everywhere was clean. A great hotel all round.
This hotel caters for weddings and conventions and is the only hotel of its kind in Hereford. They will also accommodate for dogs and have plenty of outside space. The decor inside is beautiful so would be heartbreaking to see it all demolished just to make way for yet another supermarket!
Breakfast excellent Location ok..about 15 minutes walk into centre of Hereford...not the loveliest walk but ok.I was lucky to be in a room at the rear looking onto the garden and therefore very quiet ,in the front there is a busy road. The owner was very nice ,friendly and helpful. They produced an alternative to a duvet for me..I get too warm and dislike duvets,so good for them as hotels often can’t do this or don’t want to bother.
Beautiful house which has been sympathetically converted into a hotel. Staff were very helpful and friendly and the location was perfect. 5 minutes walk to the train and bus stations, supermarket very close and all the attractions of Hereford town centre within a 15mins walk. I didn't use the car at all.
Bed was comfortable and the room was clean with plenty of space. Good cooked breakfast.
Would definitely stay here again.
Wonderful location in centre of Hereford. This self catering apartment was full of character. Warm with a comfortable lounging and kitchen area. Quiet despite it's city position and great shower. Very well appointed with everything you need for cooking and dining.Washing machine and good connectivity for wi-fi, including access to major online tv services.
The hotel was very close to the train station, which was useful as I and my friend stayed in Hereford to then travel onwards to Hay-on-Wye. The employees were very helpful when we asked if we could leave our bags for the day after checking out and get them befor our train left.
Great location, in the middle of Hereford’s market square, just a few minutes walk from the cathedral. The apartment faces the back of the building, so it was super quite.
Checking in was a breeze, and having an electronic keypad was nice (no worries about losing a key)
The hotel was quirky, it also had a restaurant and bar you could go too.The room we had, had everything from hair dryer, iron and ironing board also little bottles of smellies. It was close to Hereford Cathedral, also near bars, shops and restaurants.
Loved the TP and setup , kids loved it even in the rain and it was dry and comfy even in a storm. Excellent kitchen facilities , lovely fridge , shame we didn’t get to use the fire pit because of the rain. Would definitely go again - beats a hotel!
Nice location, on a quiet street 5 minutes walk from the Hereford Cathedral.
No parking on premises, but less than 200 ft from a very reasonably priced car park.
Super clean, nice accommodations
Beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of Hereford, amidst the Cathedral precinct. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was spacious, immaculate and quiet. Short walk to town centre
Location is good. Very close to the hospital. Room is spacious and very clean. Bed is comfortable. Will definitely stay at this hotel again if come back to Hereford in future.
the hotel as very well appointed and was in an excellent location - quiet but very close by car to Hereford
the evening dinner was great as were the 2 breakfasts
Excellent welcoming Hosts, lovely comfy cottage , rural location only 10 mins from Hereford Town centre and a great base to explore the sourounding area.
