A superb hotel in a central location in Hereford, close to the Cathedral and other attractions. Excellent room with very comfortable and high specification furnishings. A generous basket of local produce and a carafe of sherry included, which was lovely! Breakfast was first class too, and all staff very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended hotel.

Hereford is a charming and compact town on the scenic River Wye, perfect for a short break of a few days. It boasts an impressive cathedral, a fascinating history museum in the form of the Black and White House (an original 17th century home still standing in the town square!) and an excellent cider museum. It's easy to get to via train (3 hours from London) and pleasant to walk around, so makes a great trip without a car. Only tricky part was finding anywhere that serves hot food after 6pm!

Hereford is a lovely city, very compact, many useful shops, beautiful cathedral, very very well worth visiting. Plenty of cafes and food places to eat. It is very easy to get to. We used the trains and buses to get to places such as Great Malvern with the famous lamps (Narnia, fabulous for stunning scenery) Ross on Wye (charming), Ludlow (interesting, beautiful buildings), Leominster (many antique shops). There is a Zipper bus which takes you around the town and to the train station for nothing (yes free!) People are so friendly (they say “Good morning” to you) not like London!

Hereford is a stunning county to visit.
Hereford is a stunning county to visit. Amazing cathedral and city to visit, pedestrians only in city. Lots of cafes and places to eat. River Wye is stunning and Symmonds Yat worth a visit. Maybe you will see a Peregrin Falcon there. Lots to do. The local theatre The Courtyard always has something on. There is a fabulous Cinema as well.

So much history and wonderful, old buildings in quite a small, easily walkable area. The Black and White House and the Catholic church, were particularly interesting. The Mappa Mundi and Cathedral are obviously worth a visit.
The lack of cars in some streets was great. Far more relaxing without them.
Good choice of eateries (e.g. Ponte Vecchio, The Bookshop, All Saints cafe).
The outdoor market stalls were a delight but the indoor market needs a upgrade. Lots of potential.
There is also a nearby walk in the countryside along the river bank, via Victoria Bridge then back along the other side to the west.

Hereford is a pretty town, we went for the Cathedral and Map a Mundi. I think it would suit people who like to go for a bit of a shop and the town centre looked nice when we were walking through, little lanes, little cafes, little independent shops as well as some of the majors.
I enjoyed the Cathedral and the Black & White House Museum, the latter would also be good for children.
Close to lovely countryside and striking distance from Hay On Wye and other pretty towns to visit so a good hub place to be based.
Really fantastic guest house within easy walking distance of the town centre in Hereford. Myself and a friend booked two nights for a wedding and were very pleased with the facilities including breakfast which was freshly made downstairs in a small dining/breakfast room. Despite being next to the road, it wasn't too loud and we had a very spacious room for two. Another great feature was that despite sharing a bathroom on the floor, there were plenty of supplies, and fresh shower mats provided for guests in the shared facilities.
The location with views over the local countryside was lovely. The room was huge with a sitting area and the bathroom was large. It is not a modern hotel but the facilities were all functional and clean in keeping with the age of the property. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was beautifully presented.
We felt we got what we expected a traditional English country Manor experience.
Wonderful, quiet location right opposite the Cathedral. Easy walking distance to the town centre and river bank. Very well-equipped and comfortable.
We were a small group of 3 but the house was spacious enough for a bigger one.
We enjoyed great meals at Ponte Vecchio and The Bookshop but best to book. All Saints cafe was lovely too. Black and White House was fascinating.
I only stayed here for one night for my visit to the Hay Festival and I will be looking to stay again next year! The staff were friendly and helpful for check in. My room was clean and comfortable with all of the required storage and amenities and the shared bathroom facility was clean. Located only a 10 minute walk from Hereford Rail station was also very ideal.
Honestly one of the best hotels to stay in. Travel alone for work and feel safe, get a great nights sleep and a warm welcome. Breakfast is fantastic. Love the little touches such as a teapot in the room. Cannot fault this place and will always stay here if I'm in Hereford. Really is homely and comfortable.
The room was large, clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and very filling. We were able to walk to Hereford City centre both days - it took just over 30 minutes each way. If we had stayed longer, we would have caught a bus to Ross on Wye or Monmouth as they go past the hotel every hour.
The flat is pleasant and simply decorated
With neutrally coloured walls and wooden cladding
It provides a relaxing studio
the kitchen is well set up and well kitted out
The apartment is very convenient for access to Hereford town centre , train station and cinema
Perfect, and homely place to stay in Hereford. Had everything we needed and the most comfortable nights sleep. 15 minute walk to town centre. Rose and crown 2 minute walk which was nice for a little drink. Hosts were friendly and informative. Would 100% stay again
I had a lovely stay. I had everything I needed. Slept well would recommend. My room was 004 I stayed on my own and it was better than I expected for the price . I would stay again if come back to Hereford. Perfect location for train station and town centre.
The Green Dragon is in a perfect central location in Hereford town centre, very near cathedral. Big historic coaching inn feel to the hotel. Very helpful pleasant staff. Easy discounted parking at rear. Very comfy bed.
Beautiful hotel in a rural location but within 15mins drive of Hereford City centre. Friendly and helpful staff certainly added to the stay and the room was very clean and well presented.
Lovely cosy cottage with everything you need for a relaxed getaway. Was a perfect base to attend a wedding from. We will definitely be back when we visit our Hereford family & friends 😊
We arrived in Hereford by bus and left on the train. The hotel was very close to both stations. Our room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was good. Breakfast staff friendly.
