I loved the village, the architecture, truly stunning! Also the woods in the grounds, they are a part of Portmeirion. And it's like part Temperate forest, and part subtropical gardens, absolutely breath-taking in beauty! Full of all sorts of imported trees and Botanicals, amazing huge ferns and Rhododendrons, many many different species. The whole place is so well maintained, so clean! The staff are all so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The apartment I stayed in was comfortable and warm. I noticed a number of bird species in abundance around the village and woods that have disappeared elsewhere, so Portmeirion has an important ecological impact for them. I stayed for two nights and I really didn't want to leave here. It would have been longer if i could afford it! I would definitely return as soon as I can. The only limiting factor for me is the cost. This is an expensive place to stay, certainly. But it was actually worth it as I had an amazing experience here, and there isn't really anything I could fault, the service and maintenance/cleanliness was flawless, so that does justify the expense. I will be back as soon as I can afford to stay again!

From the outset, as soon as we met the couple that run Y Branwen they were very friendly and could'nt do enough for us and the room was lovely with a tv with good reception and a decent shower, the bed was also very comfortable. The food was superb with regards to the evening meal and breakfast and if your staying for more than one night you can easily walk up to Harlech Castle and onto the sand dunes. The huskies were also very friendly and did'nt appear to be bothered about other dogs.
Pleasant walk to the Queens hotel and restaurant.Premier shop close by
Good food and drink at Queens.Magnificent backdrop of Harlech Castle on the graggy outcrop.
Jane was very welcoming and made sure our stay was enjoyable. The apartment was spotless, well furnished and very comfortable, with wonderful views of Harlech castle and Pen Llyn.
Lovely building in large grounds, large comfortable room with panoramic views over the sea. Helpful advice from owners about local restaurants, good comprehensive breakfast, close to Harlech castle, and upper village.
Friendly staff, a homely feel to this small family owned/run Hotel/B&B. Great location in-between Harlech Castle and the world's steepest street! Good homecooked dinner menu, very good breakfasts and a bar just for guests ( one of very few bars in the town). Free guest parking and a great bathroom with good shower. Highly recommended, would definitely visit again.
Lovely spacious apartment, clean, tidy and very tastefully furnished with everything you need. Great location right next to Harlech Castle with a few shops and restaurants close by. Thanks for the Welsh Cakes and chocolate on arrival! Allocated spaces on the car park directly outside.
