Central but lovely and quite everything within walking distance. Staff were lovely couldn't help enough. Breakfast really good you could have as much or as little as you wanted. Bonus was tea and cake every afternoon between 3 and 5, complimentary. I would definitely stay again.

The Derwentwater walk
This pretty trail takes in the quiet majesty of Derwentwater, the ‘Queen of the Lakes’. Ten miles of well-marked paths loop around its still shoreline, leading you past age-old forests and rugged fells. For picture-postcard views, head to Friar’s Crag and look out across the lake towards the spiny ridge of Cat Bells.
