If ever your in the area or passing through Bristol you have to go to Clifton to see the suspension bridge, it is awe inspiring im not really into bridges but my other half has been talking about this bridge for years, we finally got round to visiting Bristol, we did a mini city break on the way through to stay at burnham on sea for a week with the kids. When you walk up the hill towards the top where you first get a glimpse of the bridge it almost takes your breath away i cant get my head around how high up it is, its crazy to think this was built when they didnt have the massive machinery we do today. At the top of the hill there is a little gift shop that sells magnets and such, but the other attractions there is the cave that goes underground from the gift shop, if your brave enough to walk down in the dark, which my other half did, also if you climb some steep steps up to a room there is a really old mirror obscurer where you close the doors to darkness and in front of you appears almost like an old fashioned video of the clifton bridge where you can see all the cars and people travelling across it was like watching a very old black and white movie. Word of warning there is 1 toilet up there and its hidden,no signs which we found weird, we walked into a restaurant around the side and was told its closed to the public and we cant use the toilet but there is 1 around the other side so we went in search round and round the building we walked untill a lady asked if we were looking for the toilet as she had also been searching, also there was no toilet paper so take your own.

Clifton is a lovely part of Bristol and a must-see if you are visiting the city. The Main Street is very attractive and you should also visit the Clifton Arcade and the Primrose Cafe. The architecture in Clifton is stunning. Don't miss Royal York Terrace, Caledonia Terrace and The Mall and a drink on the large terrace of the Avon Gorge Hotel with fantastic views of the Clifton Suspension Bridge. Take a walk up to the Observatory for the best views of the Bridge and the Gorge.

The hotel is beautiful
Perfect location with fabulous views of Clifton Suspension Bridge
Room was outstanding,we had a junior suite
Food was very good, lots of breakfast options
Dinner was superb
Staff were very professional and friendly
Breakfast was excellent as on my previous visit.
I was ill during my stay with a virus and had difficulty getting any sleep which is the reason I have been slow to respond to this request to rate the Clifton Hotel.
Consequently, not able to comment fairly on whether the bed was comfortable, although I suspect it was very much OK
Had a problem with booking in which was satisfactorily resolved and thought all staff helpful.
Clifton location is excellent for visitors to Bristol.
Great location for the Downs, Clifton & Redland. Breakfast was pre-ordered and specially made, and made very well. Best hotel breakfast in years! Comfy room. Fresh milk in room rather than long life milk was a simple but nice touch. Large ensuite bathroom. Took option of ensuite with bath which was lovely but also had a large separate shower. Great view of Bristol house tops and beyond. All staff encountered were friendly ans chatty.
Clean, spacious apartment located in a quiet residential area near the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. Walkable into downtown Bristol and Clifton Downs.
Clean rooms in a quiet area. Hotel is a bit far from city center, but if you don't mind walking (or hopping on a bus), it's fine. The neighborhood around the hotel was amazing, we enjoyed being so close to the Suspension Bridge and Clifton.
Superb location, close to uni and Clifton area, can walk to everything. Apartment has great set up, 2 bedrooms, nice bathroom, lovely sitting/relaxing area/kitchen. Though on the basement level, still has a wonderful view. Nicely decorated.
Excellent location, very convenient at Clifton. Center of Bristol. Easy to get to.
I like the online check-in; it is fast and easy. The hotel business model is fantastic; you check in online and get your digital room key immediately.
The room was clean and had all we needed. Thanks to the business owners for taking care of all details.
Redmayne House will always be our choice when we revisit the city.
Compared with other hotels in the Clifton area it's very good value. The room is comfortable and clean, and the staff were welcoming. It was a handy location to stay for visiting my son who is at Bristol University. The real bonus with this place was a hearty cooked breakfast as part of the rate. We were also fortunate to get a car parking spot on site.
