Simple and elegant decor with nice rustic feel. Very clean. Comfortable for two persons (we stayed at Snug 3) . Bathroom is unexpectedly spacious. Within walking distance to Kendal town centre. Value for money. Pub food in general is good, sticky toffee pudding is exceptionally delicious.

The owner was very pleasant and helpful, and good company too. Breakfast service was helpful and considerate. The room was small but easily big enough for a single person, the bed was comfortable and the linen clean. The wi-fi signal was strong and consistent.

I used Kendal as a base for my trip as it has great access to many of the attractions around the area. Although I traveled around by car the busses are very frequent and a standard £2 a trip. The river is a great place for a stroll or even a run as there are good pathways in most places. I visited mainly to hike and visit the National Trust properties. There are many things to do in and around Kendal.

Kendal is sometimes an overlooked gem of a town, with many interesting places to visit with historic interest & a hive of culture.
We especially enjoyed the ease of getting to the Brewery Arts Centre for a concert & all on offer there.
Being into 'real ale', the Factory, was a valuable find, near to the river. (Nice pizza on a Friday evening too!) A haven for dog owners!
We visited the Art Gallery, had coffee/tea there & were spoiled for choice at the cakes for sale. Friendly staff there & an very interesting selection of modern art, photography & traditional art.
Recommend a walk up to the castle for a wonderful vista of the area.
Great connections by bus to the southern lakes & western lake district too.

The town of Kendal is great and this flat is well located to access the town centre etc.
I was disappointed with my accommodation as a very poorly equipped kitchen, poor water pressure in kitchen sink, tacky decor and bizarre unintelligible smart door handles.

Castle Geen Hotel was worth the stay.
Plenty of placed to eat in town taxi prices are fair.
Everyone seems friendly
We had an amazing stay at Arthur’s Cottage - our host allowed us to check in early as we had a wedding to attend and they made this so much easier and stress free. During our stay we had a massive snow storm and got our car stuck in Windermere - our host checked in with us to check if we were okay and offered a late check out until we could get sorted. We would book again anytime if we need to be in Kendal again. Apartment was very clean and heating was on for us when we arrived. Perfect location. Great experience.
My stay in Days Inn was very comfortable and the hotel was very clean. Staffs were so helpful and friendly. Room was well maintained. All needed stuffs was in place and staffs were there to help all the time. Especially, One of the staff (Joe) was very good and professional, also explained everything perfectly for our comfortable stay in Days Inn. Will definitely choose Days Inn if I'm visiting Kendal again.... 😃♥️.... Thank you so much for the all the tema members
Beautiful hotel with lots of character, really comfy and cosy room decor with lots of small touches. Amazing views of the fields and mountains, perfect location for Windemere and Kendal. Lovely bar and breakfast area with balcony overlooking the views, and a serve yourself type bar. The bed was large and soft, smart TV with Netflix etc, rooms quiet and dark. Full English breakfast was quick and well cooked. Overall a really peaceful stay.
Very helpful staff. Food fantastic. Room huge (Kentmere - family room with 2 single beds and i king size) comfy king size bed. Although probably needs redecorated. We loved it, it was cosy. I imagine the station inn being very cosy in the winter. Only 5-10 minutes walk from Oxenholme train station. Kendal only 3 minuts by train.
We had no children, but there is a fantastic outdoor play area and seating. Plenty of parking too.
Location. A short walk into town. Parking facility. In a public car park but one gets a hotel voucher to display in car. Always plenty of spaces. Well equipped room. Nicely decorated. Nice big movable tv. Large cupboard and plenty of drawer space. Two chairs to relax in. There is a lift if one can’t use stairs. Very friendly lady on reception with an easy manner to chat to.
The hotel is in a traditional beautiful local style house, located in a convenient place, just outside the town of Kendal, 20 minutes drive from Windermere, parking spaces are sufficient, the decoration inside is very pretty, the landscape surrounding is idyllic and picturesque, with good restaurant and bar inside, and the pricing is rather reasonable.
The hotel is right in the centre of Kendal. The rooms are so comfortable and clean. The staff are very friendly and work really hard, especially at breakfast! The full English breakfast is tasty and not too massive! We stay in the triple rooms for me, my husband and our 10 Yr old. They're the perfect size. I would recommend this hotel to families.
Convenient location (next to both the train and bus station), and had very helpful and friendly members of staff who helped with directions around town and the wider Lakes areas. The hotel’s facilities were great, having both a pool, gym, sauna, and steam room. The onsite bar and restaurant was also very good, nice food and lovely staff.
Great Snug for 2 adults and 2 kids. Views lovely. Very friendly pub. Ace playground. Quiet evenings despite busy pub. Very friendly owner & bar/cleaning staff who made us all including the kids feel welcome. 15ish mins to Bowness by easy main roads, 2 mins to Kendal centre, 7 mins to Levens Hall and Lakeland Maze Farm.
The location is very suitable for driving and is just next to the main road leading to Kendal. The hotel is situated next to a farm shop and surrounded by green pastures. The staff are very friendly, and pets are welcome. The restaurant is amazing, and source local produce for the food and beverages.
Delightful hostess, so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We were wonderfully warm and cosy in our room for a cold wet December. The home made shortbread was delicious. The location was perfect for exploring Kendal and visiting the Brewery Arts Centre. Would definitely return.
Modern facilities, very clean and good location in Kendal/easy travel to Windermere. Dog friendly which is perfect for the area and has a small outdoor some which our dog enjoyed.
location was excellent, short walk into Kendal. The views from the site were beautiful. Very nice to have Alexader's pub on site but separate to the hotel bar. Staff were lovely.
Everything staff extremely friendly and professional. Food delicios evening meal and breakfast fabulouse. Cleaniness of room and pub areas superb. Hotel location perfect.
