Days Inn Kendal - Killington Lake, hotel in Kendal

Days Inn Kendal is located just off the M6, attractively located beside Killington Lake. The hotel offers many rooms with scenic Lakeland views with free Wi-Fi and free parking.

The mattresses were absolutely appalling. It was like sleeping on concrete. Considering the price they charge, they could have memory foam toppers to avoid feeling every spring!! The shower wasn't the best but acceptable.

For us it was a stop on the way from Sussex to the Isle of Skye at a convenient location. I was particularly keen to see the Quaker Tapestry but we found Kendal to be a charming and fascinating old town with very nice shops and cafes. I would recommend it unhesitatingly as a base.

I lived in Kendal 30 years ago, and it still retains a lot of charm although it's a shame some of the old buildings - like The Bridge pub on the river - have fallen into dereliction. There are still some great historic spots, like the cosy Finkles restaurant, and some charming little gift shops and eateries. I did miss the fabulous Bootleggers bar - now seems to be closed - (God rest its former owner Jonty Martindale), and the famous 'Amber shop' - also gone. Kendal is a historic, atmospheric little town, but older/disabled visitors should be aware of the cobbles and hills.

One of the friendliest places I have been to in my life, was made to feel so welcome in every pub we went into, Our favourite was the George and Dragon, Ed and Steve are great, the pool table is fantastic quality but dartboard didn't like me! I can't wait to return

Kendal is sometimes an overlooked gem of a town, with many interesting places to visit with historic interest & a hive of culture. We especially enjoyed the ease of getting to the Brewery Arts Centre for a concert & all on offer there. Being into 'real ale', the Factory, was a valuable find, near to the river. (Nice pizza on a Friday evening too!) A haven for dog owners! We visited the Art Gallery, had coffee/tea there & were spoiled for choice at the cakes for sale. Friendly staff there & an very interesting selection of modern art, photography & traditional art. Recommend a walk up to the castle for a wonderful vista of the area. Great connections by bus to the southern lakes & western lake district too.

The hotel is lovely and very close to Kendal, with lovely decor. We had an evening meal, which was a little pricey but gorgeous. The service was slow, as the wine was brought when we were half way through the meal and a sauce we asked for never materialised. There was a wedding so unfortunately we could not sit out on the balcony, which was a shame as it was a lovely evening. Breakfast was only warm but very nice, but again the service was a little slow. Our tea and toast only arrived when we were half way through our cooked meal.

Lovely charming pub and hotel in a beautiful spot. We stayed one night on our way up to Scotland. Michael made us very welcome and was super helpful, all staff were lovely. Some nice little walks from the property. The food was delicious and the restaurant and bar area was beautifully done. Our room was very comfy and cosy, very clean and nicely done. Fresh water and milk on site was a nice touch. Parking on site was fine, gets very busy but staff will do their best to direct you.

Beautiful hotel with lots of character, really comfy and cosy room decor with lots of small touches. Amazing views of the fields and mountains, perfect location for Windemere and Kendal. Lovely bar and breakfast area with balcony overlooking the views, and a serve yourself type bar. The bed was large and soft, smart TV with Netflix etc, rooms quiet and dark. Full English breakfast was quick and well cooked. Overall a really peaceful stay.

a good find in the centre of Kendal, just off the main roads/one-way system. It looked just like any modern town centre hotel but it was a bit more personal, the room was a good size. The food was good- tastier and more interesting than I'd expected. Will use again if at the price.
