The house was modern, clean and tidy. The location was great, with town just a 10 minute walk away, and right by the station. Parking in car parks can be expensive, but there are plenty of free on-street parking options available if you're willing to look.

We have visited Kendal each Christmas for many years and now our son has moved here these visits are more frequent. It has a lot too offer , besides being so close to Windermere it also has a good selection of shops and restaurants. Life seems less hurried and more relaxed her than our home city and you don’t have to travel far to get impressive countryside views.

Kendal is sometimes an overlooked gem of a town, with many interesting places to visit with historic interest & a hive of culture.
We especially enjoyed the ease of getting to the Brewery Arts Centre for a concert & all on offer there.
Being into 'real ale', the Factory, was a valuable find, near to the river. (Nice pizza on a Friday evening too!) A haven for dog owners!
We visited the Art Gallery, had coffee/tea there & were spoiled for choice at the cakes for sale. Friendly staff there & an very interesting selection of modern art, photography & traditional art.
Recommend a walk up to the castle for a wonderful vista of the area.
Great connections by bus to the southern lakes & western lake district too.

The town of Kendal is great and this flat is well located to access the town centre etc.
I was disappointed with my accommodation as a very poorly equipped kitchen, poor water pressure in kitchen sink, tacky decor and bizarre unintelligible smart door handles.

Castle Geen Hotel was worth the stay.
Plenty of placed to eat in town taxi prices are fair.
Everyone seems friendly
Easy location to get to as its just of the m6, great that it’s got a McDonald’s right next door open 24/7 and the view of the lake each morning was beautiful, staff was very pleasant on arrival and very helpful when I accidentally locked myself out the room (oops😅)
Ideal place to stay for a night or two maximum if your just passing through or wanting just a place to refresh and sleep when exploring the surrounding areas (we only stayed for two nights and had day trips out to Yorkshire dales, Kendal and Windermere.
The people in the hotel and Kendal is very friendly. The location is good. You will be very close to Lake District paradise by car at affordable price. You can find continental breakfast in just 8 minutes on foot in Costa Caffe (very good place if you look for such kind of breakfast) or many other places to have coffee and cakes (too much sweets for me...)
The property was a perfect weekend haven in a fantastic location for Kendal and the surrounding areas. It was spotless and the facilities were outstanding. The host had really thought about the lay out and the use of the space. The host went above expectations with communications and even posted something we had left behind.
Location next to a lake as well as right next to a motorway stop with shops and restaurants was very convenient for our family.
Stunning view of lake from all the hotel rooms.
Extremely friendly reception & staff.
Bonus discounted food vouchers for the Costa & Macdonald’s next door was a bonus.
The apartment was very clean, comfortable and well provisioned - a proper home and in a lovely area of Kendal. We enjoyed the short walk up to the castle to look at the sunset and the park opposite. The hosts left a lovely loaf of fresh bread and milk. All in all a great stay and we’d return again.
Delightful hostess, so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We were wonderfully warm and cosy in our room for a cold wet December. The home made shortbread was delicious. The location was perfect for exploring Kendal and visiting the Brewery Arts Centre. Would definitely return.
Very nice hotel on the edge of the Lakes, ideal for hiking and a walk into Kendal centre. The rooms was clean and big :-) The food excellent, the kippers for breakfast were spot on. We enjoyed using the pool and steam room, the main reason for booking.
The hotel was lovely, it was only a short drive away from Kendal and Windermere. The room was spacious and very cosy. The staff were exceptional and very informative, they even helped us to find a bonfire we could go to.
The house is in a great location, only a short walk from Kendal centre and really close to Romneys which does excellent food on an evening. Everything was nice and clean and the host Matt was brilliant too.
Compact but well set up.
Very light in main living area.
Swallows outside the front door (and occasionally in the kitchen)!
Good access to other areas of Lake District and Kendal.
