What a lovely time we had ! I mentioned to Chris that it was a short break for our 9th wedding anniversary , and arrived at the property to see a bottle of sparkling wine and a lovely card wishing us all the best for our anniversary break...create thought and wonderful gestures! The property was cosy and quaint and very clean . All the amenities worked well and the whole stay was excellent. Would highly recommend this property over staying in a single room B&B or hotel for anyone visiting Bury St Edmunds.
A really beautiful small Hotel ideally located for exploring the lovely town of Bury St Edmunds. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and we were made to feel as if nothing would have been too much trouble for them, the service felt very personalised. The rooms were exceptionally clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was amazing and there were so many different options to choose from.
We had chosen this hotel as it is near to the railway station as well as the centre of town. It is an old and pretty well maintained building with some interesting architectural features. It is not staffed, though adequate instructions had been sent via SMS in order to access the key to the front door and to the room. The bedroom and bathroom were very spacious, well equipped and warm. The bed was large and very comfortable. A useful stop-over fairly close to the centre of Bury St Edmunds.
The location in Bury St Edmunds was ideal - easy walking distance from the town and its main places of interest. The apartment itself was fine for a couple of nights.
The very friendly welcome we received. We arrived very early, but despite that we were given a room by the cheerful and friendly owner. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. This is a very pleasant and quirky old hotel dating back to the Tudor period. It is in an excellent quiet situation in easy walking distance of the Abbey Gardens, Cathedral and town centre. We were in Bury St Edmunds for a concert at The Apex and the hotelier kindly gave us a map and marked out the position of the concert hall.
As soon as we arrived we felt at home! The reception staff were very polite and helpful. The hotel is a pleasant 15 minute walk to Bury St Edmunds. Breakfast was quite good and real eggs were used instead of powdered eggs other hotels use. The main menu is pub style.
Everything. Lovely breakfast. The hotel, the setting. Clean, Efficient staff. Nicely furnished room. And being outside a village, so fabulously quiet and relaxing. Only about 10 minutes drive from Bury St Edmunds which is a lovely town.
The Location is ideal for a lovely walk into Bury St Edmunds centre through the beautiful park and stunning gardens. Alternatively, walk around Abbey Garden area and see the lovely Georgian or Regency houses.
The house was all we could have wished for and although semi detached absolutely no interference from the other apartments that were all let during our stay.
Facilities and all equipment first class.
