Having stayed at the Hyatt in Birmingham 2 night before, the quality of the room was superior. Even though we were advised of a wedding party, the window closed was enough to relax in the room. Really clean and lovely big bed, far better than what holiday inn offer, having stayed there for the past 10!years we will now always return to Holmfield

The hotel was great value for money, the staff were friendly and quality of breakfast was great. The bed was comfy and cleanliness of the hotel was spot on.
Dating to the 1740s, The Mews Hotel is set in a charming courtyard in Ossett, between Wakefield and Dewsbury. It offers real ales in the cosy bar and a restaurant serving classic British cuisine.

All of it! Great location; lovely, relaxed & friendly atmosphere. Lovely old building, nicely decorated & full of character.
Bedroom was lovely, clean, quiet & comfortable with all you needed. Customer service was excellent (eg there were come steep stairs so was helped to the room with luggage) and a vegetarian catered for very well in the rather meat oriented menu.
Surrounded by scenic pastures, this Holiday Inn is located just off junction 40 of the M1 motorway, 5 minutes’ drive from Wakefield.

Staff very friendly, breakfast had plenty to choose from, could of done with takeaway bags for the pastry's to take a way instead I had to ask for some kitchen foil to wrap them in.

We travelled for work, and after spending 12 hours at work. the most important thing to look forward to is a clean warm room with a comfortable bed, plenty of hot water for a bath or shower and a good nights sleep, this is the 7th time of staying at the Campanile hotel, so we are really pleased with this hotel.
Good place to eat is the Red Kite pub around a mile away, fantastic food and a family friendly atmosphere.

Too noisy rooms (especially during the weekend), very bad customer service (most staff don't smile, duty manager doesn't care about complaints) swimming/spa requires additional charge and pre-booking, food in the restaurant is not good and overpriced

Great quick visit to the cathedral as closing an hour after we arrived. Stunning interior with view of peregrines on spire (visible and via webcam). City was clean and sunny. Lots of restaurant choices - we went for the Slap & Pickle concession in The Counting House (hands down all three of us said it was the best burger we’d had). The sandstone buildings are stunning. Sadly didn’t have time to visit the Hepworth or YSP but will be back .

Not a welcoming city centre. Most bars had bouncers.
Not a welcoming city centre. Most bars had bouncers. Police in numbers, drafted in for Friday night. Ambulances stationed in the city centre in preparation.
Chip shops shut on Friday night. Restaurants were either very posh and expensive it had sauce bottles and kitchen roll on the tables and still expensive.

We visited The Hepworth Gallery, which was the whole reason for our trip. Wakefield is a pleasant centre to walk round, but could do with more places to eat in the evenings.
Some lovely buildings and structures to see.

Wakefield has really nice town centre with an amazing vegan Throwback Coffee House. If you prefer nature, there is a big Thornes Park with Secret garden, pond, Skate park etc. and very nice walk in nature in Pugneys Country Park.
A nicely presented cosy cottage, well equipped and decorated. Lounge diner with large TV, central heating and a nice convection fire to keep everyone snug and warm. Two reasonable sized bedrooms and a modern bathroom.
A rural feel to the area but perfectly placed, The Bay Horse pub just a minute away and Wakefield centre 10 minutes by car. Take a walk to Newmiller Dam, more pubs and restaurants.
We have enjoyed the property, the place is a bit smaller than i expected, nonetheless, it is warm, bright and cosy, we loved the coffee, tea and bread that left for us, since we didn't have a chance to pop over to the supermarket. the rooms are clean and with lovely decor, everything and more are there. we definitely recommend the property should anyone are staying in wakefield.
Prior to arrival, we had asked whether we could have a room in Walton Hall (on the island) which they were able to accommodate. It is a beautiful building with a lovely bridge to access. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was lovely, very good size, view overlooking the lake. Breakfast was good. Cannot fault the hotel.
The room was lovely, small but had everything I needed. Was looking forward to my "full English" so was a little disappointed when I was offered a sandwich instead (I am not a morning bread person) and the breakfast service felt a little rushed. The evening staff were so polite, a credit to the hotel.
Eighteenth century house with modern leisure centre. Food was upmarket pub grub, superbly cooked with excellent quality. Setting was lovely as the house is on an island in a man-made lake. Very handy for Hepworth Museum in Wakefield and Yorkshire Sculpture Park.
Perfect location for us on main Leeds-Wakefield Road. Extremely friendly staff. Easy access. Spacious rooms with amenities such as tea/coffee and mini fridge. Very close to several food places and also there's a co-op mini market about a mile down the road.
The Mews Hotel in Wakefield was a pleasant and comfortable experience. The friendly staff, delicious meals, and clean rooms contributed to our enjoyable visit. We would certainly consider staying here again if we find ourselves in Wakefield in the future.
We spent weekend in Wakefield. It was absolutely great. Apartment was large, clean, and in great location (5min by car to city centre). Any issues we had, were quickly resolved by Harry (thank you again!).
Overall, I highly recommend this place.
We stayed at a Holiday Inn hotel and were surprised by how friendly the staff was in particular (Ben) and how spacious the room was. I highly recommend staying at any Holiday inn Wakefield hotel as you won't be disappointed.
-The location was convenient as it was in the centre of Wakefield.
-The room was spacious with a great city view
-There was a small kitchen with a fridge, freezer, microwave and sink.
