I was on the top floor and unfortunately there was an air conditioning unit in the room which although was switched off made clicking and weird noises.
I informed staff as soon as I arrived but initially nothing was done. At around midnight when I messaged them again stating it was impossible to sleep they managed to disconnect the power - I was no impressed having walked 20 miles that day, was exhausted and had gone to bed at 22.00!

Couldn’t fault anything, happy to stay there again
Just outside of Penrith, the Brantwood Hotel is less than 3 miles from Ullswater. Just one mile from the junction 40 of M6 it offers en suite bedrooms and TVs.
Friendly staff, lovely meals, lovely walks from the hotel.

The pub was lovely. Set in a beautiful location. We stayed here as we were at a wedding at Askham Hall the location was perfect. Rooms were lovely very clean. Staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
Great service and good team running the inn. Superb little village setting and extremely convenient in relation to a wedding reception at Askham Hall. Very traditional and original low beams etc gives good first impression.
Excellent location as we were attending a wedding at Askham Hall. Staff were helpful and friendly and the accommodation was comfortable and spotless. We had a first class breakfast.
It’s a lovely old building at the end of the village closest to the church and directly opposite the entrance to Askham Hall. Perfect if you need an overflow hotel for people attending a wedding at the hall. The food and the beer are excellent and the staff are really lovely and cannot do enough for you. Yes the building creaks and groans but that’s all part of its charm. It’s a local, it has genuine regulars, people who live and work in the village, I don’t think I’ve ever felt more welcome in a hotel before.
Beautiful room with Georgian windows looking over trees and the beginnings of the Askham Hall estate.
A range of good quality food offered for breakfast.
Evening meal served in front of a crackling fire.
