Housed in a 19th-century country house, The Originals Boutique, Hôtel Normandie, Auxerre is located in the centre of Auxerre, 7 minutes from the main road junctions and 20 km from Chablis.

English was spoken at reception. There were English language television channels. There were recycling bins. The hotel is on a busy road but our room was quiet. It was a good size and was comfortable. There were 16 under cover car parking places, 3 of them electric. The car parking is closed at night.

A beautiful old house with a charming couple in charge. They were very welcoming and the continental breakfast was good. Appreciated on site parking for car. The location was excellent, an easy walk to the old town. A good place to stop for the night.

This is a beautiful building and the museum is fascinating.

This is a beautiful building and the museum is fascinating. I speak quite good French which helped, but have an App on your phone if you don’t. I visited at 10.30am and was delighted to get in for free. I’m not sure if that was the time of day or time of year, but it might be worth checking out before your visit.
