From checking in at the hotel we were given excellent service by all staff which continued throughout our stay.
A bottle of iced cava was left in our room on arrival as a welcome gift and in our last evening a bottle of wine.
Every time we entered or left the hotel we were greeted by a staff member and made very welcome.
The location is excellent for walking to most sights and the view from our room of the port area stunning

Clean, comfortable room. Very good breakfast with different choices each day. All the staff were very friendly and spoke English well. We walked to all the sights we wanted to see in the area.

The hotel is centrally located for the gothic quarters near the cathedral. There is also plenty of restaurants nearby and a very well stocked supermarket just along the road.
The rooms are nicely decorated and well equipped.

I love a quirky hotel and they mixed the new in with the beautiful old building very well.
The view from the roof top was great, was easy to walk to most attractions and restaurants and the staff were very nice.

This ancient theatre is the jewel in the Syracusan crown. It dates all the way back to the 5th century BC, and was used by the great playwright Aeschylus to stage some of his most beloved tragedies. Carved out of the rocky hillside, it used to hold up to 16,000 theatregoers on its semi-circular steps. Head down in spring to catch a classical play, and imagine the scenes all those years ago, as tragic actors prowled the stage and audiences wept and wailed at the heart-wrenching action.

The beach is adjacent to the city and was not very clean. It was crowded and we saw trash in the water and on the beach. The day after it rained, the beaches were closed due to unhealthy/hazardous conditions.

Avoid, head the other side just after port Olympic.
Avoid, head the other side just after port Olympic. Mostly local people, really friendly, nice bars, half price and way less “hypsters, great beachvolley, easy contact, friendly local people, you can leave your clothes an sunscreens or sunglasses.. whereas in Barcelonetta : wellyou will be just another tourist.

Consider renting a locker as the beach is fairly high...
Consider renting a locker as the beach is fairly high traffic. There are small convenience stores across the street if you need tanning lotion. You may also find it much cheaper to buy your own beer and drinks there. Vendors will stroll buy offering mojitos, massages, and towels. Haggle with them! If you don't like the offer, find another vendor. Most require cash. Be warned, many pretend not to carry change and will instead offer you a "deal" to make up the difference with more drinks. Don't settle for a towel for more than 15 euros, possibly less if you have the patience.

Great beach. Sometimes over crowded.
Great beach. Sometimes over crowded. Annoying massage ladies and men trying to sell anything. Never pay the price for what they are asking for. The big beach sheets they try to sell for 15€. Real price is 3€. Bargan down to 8€. Never buy their mojitos. Esp for 5€. They are worth 1€. No need to be afraid. Its not as bad as I'm writing but just these things can happen. Just enjoy the beach and watch your stuff. 👍🙂

Very clean, comfortable space, in great location close to Barceloneta beach and also metro station. We really liked simple and comfortable layout of the apartment, it’s a lovely space to relax in after long days out of sightseeing.
Location is okay. 10-12 min walk from Sagrada familia and arc de triomf. Public transport is easily reachable. Good restaurants nearby 10 min walk. Taxi 8-9 Euro to barceloneta beach and shopping mall.
