It was a beautiful place and immersed into the city. The furnishings were antique and gorgeous. Mark was absolutely professional and went above and beyond! We forgot a bag and he ran all the way to the train station to drop it off to us. He saved us valuable time. He gave us excellent directions to get us around the city. Mark made arrangements for transportation. He was so wonderful and such a pleasant person.

The staff and general warm welcoming environment made this hotel a place it was nice to just lounge in and enjoy. I have been going to Beijing since the mid-90s and have never enjoyed the larger hotels in China (so if you like a Hilton or Ramada this might not be for you), and there are not very many characterful ones in Beijing. So, this place in the hutongs with a view platform, and the nicest staff you will ever find anywhere, made for an incredibly enjoyable week. The other thing to add is that it is a nice hutong, if you stay away from the one tourist road, with excellent restaurants and the Houhai lake within a short walk. (I could write for quite a while about the Muslim and Yunnan restaurants in the area - but will leave those for you to find.)

Fantastic service, great location. The staff was truly kind and accommodating with all of my questions and needs (laundry, baggage storage, assistance with attractions and bookings). The location is 400 m from the metro so it’s easy to navigate all around the top Beijing attractions. The hotel is on a lively Hutong Alley with many shops and restaurants open late yet the hotel itself is quiet. The amenities were modern, clean and comfortable, five star feel.
The Ritz-Carlton Beijing, Financial Street is 1.9 mi from the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. Overlooking the White Pagoda Temple and city, it offers an indoor pool and free parking.
