The view was incredible and the chalet that we stayed in overlooked an amazing vista. The chalet was lovely for a couple with a fire and a hot tub. We enjoyed our stay a lot and would recommend.

I had a super nice time at Paradise Hostel, Alex was the sweetest host ever. I haven’t planned anything in advance, he shared with me all the good spots to go to in Itatiaia National Park, arranged transportation to go there, and even found an amazing guide to take me to the Parte Alta 👍🏻 The hostel is super well located, 20min walking from the bus station, supermarket pharmacy and café are less than 5min away walking. Kitchen is well equipped, except that there are no cooking plates, but you can get inventive 😉 + they have super good pizzas downstairs if you are lazy to cook!

This is a gem in the middle of nature!! Coming out of tourist season, we were practically the only guests. The whole area is from the 40s originally and is gigantic with three natural pools and a waterfall. During our stay we had a campfire. The ranch seems to be in a state of deep sleep. Everything is a little overgrown, the chairs haven't been used for a long time and the bar next to the main pool is open but nobody's attending it, so you're allowed to take what you need an pay later. The garden with the playground is great and the staff were so attentive! The first morning my son wanted grape juice for breakfast but they didn't have it. The next morning there was a big carafe with grape juice, just for us. The lunch was great too. We were able to move rooms during our stay, since the first room, the chale, was a little too small for us and had a lot of steep stairs. Marcos, the owner, organized everything for us and even moved an extra bed into the new room. The ranch is peaceful and quiet. We absolutely loved it!

It's my fault not to understand Portuguese but there was so few information available in terms of logistics of exploring the national park. I did not know you have to walk for 5 Km from the Visitors' information center to the area you can enjoy the scenery and visiting various falls. If a kind couple did not pick me up with their car it would have taken me about 3 hours from the Visitors' Info Center (which is also 5 Km away from the entrance but there are some buses during the day) to the area where you can see the scenery. But I enjoyed the walk very much myself. One of the falls was mesmerising. Sorry I forgot the name of it but a few falls were very close to each other and walkable in a couple of hours at the most.
