Our accommodation was upgraded compared to what we ordered. Overall, however, this place was a pleasant surprise and it is a shame we couldn't have spent more time here. There is definitely more to discover here. The private beach with all the facilities is very nice.

Annenheim is a very small town on the Ossiacher See.
Annenheim is a very small town on the Ossiacher See. We were there for only three days, out of season (end of April) and with bad weather, so we did not explore as much as we would have if the weather were better. We did some walks around the lake and in the forest around it. There are many different trails, from easy to hard. There is also paragliding, possibility to rent boats, skiing in winter. One thing we noted is that out of season almost every restaurant/cafe in the area is closed (one would need to go to Villach to eat out).
Absolute slam dunk for a romantic getaway. Picturesque view to the lake. Ski resort is 10 minutes, Klagenfurt 40 minutes away. Room was superb, clean, roomy and cosy, breakfast healthy and of excellent quality, clearly no expense was spared in that regard. Only a few minutes from the main road. Conditions were snowy / icy (-7-9 celsius), but it was all cleared off up to the hotel. The place is run by a couple, they're very friendly and caring. We'll probably return in the summer. :-)
Location is top of the top. You open your eyes in the morning and see impeccable Ossiacher see in its full. The hotel is located on a hill, whole valley and the lake is underneath, surrounded by mountains. Horses, paragliders, castle on the opposite hill. Perfect place to relax - cosy like a home. Very pleasant hosts. Mostly self-service on reception. Definitely will come again.
Our room was on the ground floor, and it still had a great view on Ossiacher See. Our hosts were very kind, and the breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The Kanzelbahn cable lift is a 10 minute walk from the house. For such an affordable price, I highly recommend Pension Winkler to anyone.
