The location was very nice and close to restaurants and supermarkets, it is also only 30 minutes from Hallstatt.
The surroundings were beautiful.
The place itself has three nice rooms: which is very good for 6 people.
The kitchen is well equipped and the dining room table is very big and there is also a table outside.

What were your favourite places there?
The Sommerrodelbahn, The Cable Car, The Postalm Panoramastrasse and the drive through Fischbach. What we highly recommend is a nice walk through the town and surrounding places itself!! This is a very very pretty place.
Where did you eat?
We cooked ourselves. However, we bought groceries at the Spar market in the town.
Is it easy to get around Abtenau?
Yes. The town is very accessible. We, however, did not use the public transport.
What would you avoid on your next visit?
Nothing really. The place offers a lot of things to a tourist!

The small city in the middle of the mountains. The small ski resort, but the bigger one is only 10 km away. Good cross country ski´s tracks. Excellent trips and bike trips in summer are possible. A lot of round trips tracks are signed around the place. It is a peaceful friendly place,

Abtenau is a wonderful quiet little summer resort town that is quite central to many areas and activities in Salzburgerland, e.g. Salzburg is 45min away by car, Dachstein, Hallstatt and Grossglockner Alpine road all in easy reach. Plenty of hikes in summertime and though we didn’t travel in winter, there are ski slopes on your doorstep for beginner/intermediate level, with advanced level ski runs a short drive away. You do need a car to get around from here, but it is worth it.

All you can expect in a mountain village.
All you can expect in a mountain village. A couple of places to eat, in the main square pizza is not bad and traditional food is excellent at the Post Hotel. We were there during very hot June, so we visited the local pool and it was an amazing surprise. Kids loved it.
the place is 30 min drive from Salzburg so you can come and go at any time. We also visited the beautiful deep gorges of Lammerklamm.
Very happy with accommodation of owners Andreas and his wife. They were super friendly and helpful with any question we had.
We booked room for one night thinking we will travel and stay closer to our other destination, but we returned every night and stayed 3 nights.
Breakfast and his restaurant was very good, hotel is clean and cozy. Sauna was a plus. When traveling to Austrian Alps next time, will not look anywhere else, will definitely return.
We (family of 6, 4 kids) spent one week in this appartment and we were absolutely satisfied. The appartment has 3 separate rooms with a sofa bed in the living room, so enogh space for big family / group.
The owners are very kind and open to solve any problem. Abtenau and its surrounding is not highly visited place but that is a plus if you want to enjoy hiking/walking and don't want to meet many people.

Really nice hotel with friendly staff and cheerful owner. Our room had a great view on mountains, the hotel had quite big sauna centrum with more sauna rooms each with different temperature and steam bath. The pool is quite big too. The breakfasts were perfect with a lot of different food to choose. The homemade marmelades and chutneys were great! 5 course dinner menu was perfect too. Extra point for being dog friendly :)
The owners were quick to answer to messages & requests and very likeable. The ski lifts were close, the shops in Abtenau were also close, the location was quiet, the apartment was clean and great and it had everything we needed, the appliances were new and worked well. The bed was comfy, the kitchen / living room was super-spacious, the shower was great.
Best place to stay. Very clean, great location and nice family place with 3 apartments. Very quiet area, only bird and cricket noise around. There is kitchen with everything you need to cook, nice bathroom, car park available.
Panoramablick is very good place for staying. Abtenau is in the middle of everything you want to visit in one hour distance.
Overall we were very satisfied with our stay in this traditional Austrian hotel. Location is great, near Salzburg, Bad Ischl, Hallstatt, Schladming, Dachstein and other tourist spots. Room was quiet, tidy, spacious and bed comfortable. Personnel was very friendly and helpful, food delicious and plentiful. We felt very welcome and will surely return.
Everything was super! Especially thank you that we can stay at the hotel with our cat. It's a pity that we only stayed here for one night. The wellness area is simply amazing. Because there was a wedding event in the hotel restaurant on the evening of our arrival. Daniel helped us very quickly to find a place where we could have dinner. Thank you
The hotel is located in the center of Abtenau, staff is very friendly, breakfast is good, the rooms are clean and big enough (not the usual hotel size chambers). They have a small swimming pool and a peacful garden. Perfect place to relax, but a good base also if you want to discover the neighbouring mountains, lakes and towns.
A magnificent hotel in a small fairy-tale town at the foot of the mountains. Excellent service, friendly staff, large spacious rooms and magnificent views from the balcony. Delicious breakfasts, excellent spa and pool. Not far from the hotel there are excellent mountain tracks and many attractions.

Live music in the evening on occasion, stopped at 22:00. Big room, comfy beds, typical Austrian look and feel. The breakfast was served from 8:00-10:00 and had a lot of choice. This day we only had breakfast and dinner :-) .

The room was large and comfortable. The landlady was very polite and provided bread. However, the location was difficult to find. Google Maps got the address wrong. You should use Apple Maps.
