We arrived late and had dinner in the pub/restaurant. The quality was way in excess of our expectations. The starter was one of the best I have ever had and the main course was the perfect meal for a first day in Scotland. Compliments to the chef!! Our room was spacious with every comfort. A huge comfortable bed with a nice view out the front of the building, and nice bathroom with all necessary accessories.

The view from the room was peaceful and amazing, giving straight on the Loch Lomond. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, the arrangement for a Prosecco bottle on arrival was waiting for us as asked. The bed was super comfy as well.
The staff was really friendly, they even helped us with some complementary rolls & coffee to take away, as we were leaving really early to hit the road, and couldn't be there during breakfast hours. I will absolutely recommend.

Garelochhead
"The Anchor Inn was a traditional Drovers Inn dating back to 1888. Over recent years, it has undergone tasteful modernisation and now boasts a nautical-themed bar and restaurant area with hearty food and good ale. We have various rooms, all en-suite, and many have views of the Gareloch Sea. Unbelievably attentive hosts and excellent local advice. Let us use the space and downstairs bar as though it were an extension of our own home.

Our stay at this hotel was excellent. The breakfast menu offered a wide selection of options and was cooked to perfection with wonderful ingredients. The hotel has a list of their food suppliers on display and this food provenance is reflected in the wonderful freshly cooked dinners we enjoyed. The main courses were all large portions and very satisfying. The bar had an excellent selection of scottish gins all well worth trying. The room was very comfortable and well appointed and very clean with plenty of tea and coffee supplies. The hosts Irene and Scott are very friendly and made us very welcome.

Very elegant hotel, with old-fashioned charm (in the past it was a drovers’ inn), clean, well organized. Very kind and very helpful staff, they welcomed us in the late evening. We didn't try the breakfast, but we enjoyed an excellent whiskey in the pub on the ground floor of the hotel, in a very familiar atmosphere. highly recommended
The staff were very good, friendly and professional, as well as very helpful. The restaurant and dinner were excellent.
An historic inn with a lot to offer....beautiful setting with a great restaurant and friendly staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our brief visit and wished we had another night or two at this wonderful spot.
